Auditions are fast approaching for the Jacksonville Jaguars pro cheer team. Do you see yourself dancing side by side with your cheer sisters? In this guide, we’re going to show you the details of the upcoming tryouts this 2018, including an overview of your dream team.
Who are the Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleaders?
The Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleaders are commonly known as the Jacksonville ROAR. The squad, created in 1995, proudly represents the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars. Each year, the ROAR holds tryouts for women who’d like to be part of their great cheer team. In 2017, about 200 women auditioned for the Jacksonville ROAR. 32 woman made the team.

Women coming from different backgrounds and dance experiences are brought together to form one amazing pro cheer team - the Jacksonville ROAR.
What do these cheerleaders do? Aside from performing on game days, they make appearances for charity events, pose for calendar photoshoots, do an autograph signing, go on tours to entertain people, and more.
What is the schedule for the 2018 tryouts? What are the requirements?
- Auditions date (Preliminaries): Saturday, April 14
- Place and time: EverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL at 8:30 a.m. Check-in time is at 9:00 a.m.
- Audition classes/prep classes: You are required to participate in one class in order to audition. Choose from any of these dates: Tuesday, April 10 or Thursday, April 12.

Overview of the auditions process:
The making of the Jacksonville ROAR consists of 5 rounds: Preliminaries, Semifinal Auditions, Finalist Rehearsal, Finalist Interviews, and Final Auditions. At the end of the preliminary audition, the judges will conclude the candidates who are to proceed to the semifinal round.
The competition is fierce, and even veterans need to go through the process. They have more to lose than first-time contestants since they’ve already established great friendships and are used to the pro ROAR lifestyle. How will you be judged? As with all pro cheer teams, the judges will look at your dance performance, fitness, and interview skills.
If you make the team this year, be committed to attending all events. That includes meeting with the squad for practices on evenings.
In order to audition, take note of the following requirements and qualifications:
Make sure that you are at least 18 years old by April 14 and get a high school diploma by June 30. Again, you need to join one free audition/prep class offered by the ROAR. If you are selected, you will be traveling to EverBank Field for rehearsals and home games.
