Auditions are fast approaching for the NBA Atlanta Hawks Dance Team. Today, we’re giving you an overview of their 2019 tryouts. Excited? You should be!
Their 2019 OPEN CALL AUDITIONS will take place on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at the State Farm Arena. Registration will start at 9:15 am.

Qualifications, Requirements, and What the Judges Look for
The NBA Atlanta Hawks Dance Team is looking for auditionees who are at least 19 years of age, is a high school graduate or has a GED, and should be a college/professional student or has a part-time/full-time job. If you make the team, you must be able to attend the team rehearsals which are held at least twice a week.
If you are enthusiastic and have a good background in dance, go ahead and audition this year! The registration fee is $45. Please visit the team's 2019 auditions page to register and get complete information about the event.

Dance Audition Attire
Please wear the following to the auditions:
- Two-piece outfit with flesh-colored tights/nylons
- Any pair of shoes that you're comfortable dancing in
- Complete hair and makeup
Bring the Following
- Registration fee of $45
- Application and waiver (available on the team page)
- Photo
- Printed copy of driver's license
- Light snacks and water
- Make-up for touch-ups
Overview of the Auditions
The NBA Atlanta Hawks Dance Team's 2019 auditions consist of 3 rounds: OPEN CALL, SEMI-FINAL, and FINAL round. If you will be chosen to proceed to the SEMI-FINAL round, make sure that you're present at all events. The SEMI-FINAL round covers interviews, workouts, practices, and the selection to the FINAL round which will happen on June 8. The announcement will be made online.
Prep Classes
There will be 2 prep clinics to help you prepare better! Clinic dates are May 16 and May 18. Each clinic will teach you their dance technique (Hip-Hop or Jazz) and what it takes to be part of the team. Each audition clinic will end with a Q&A with the director and current team members.

The Atlanta Hawks Dance Team officially represent the professional basketball team Atlanta Hawks. Currently, the dance team has 20 members who are either veterans or rookies. These bright and talented women perform at every home game and special events. They make appearances in and around the Atlanta area.
