2019 NBA Memphis Grizz Girls Auditions Info
The 2019 auditions are fast approaching for the NBA Memphis Grizz Girls. Today, we’re giving you details of their tryouts. Excited? You should be.
First Round Auditions will take place on Saturday, June 23, at FedExForum,191 Beale Street, Memphis, TN 38103.

Qualifications, Requirements, and What the Judges Look for
To join the Grizz Girls dance auditions, candidates should be at least 18 years of age, a high school graduate. You must be a full-time student or have a part-time job.
The judges are looking for aspiring performers who have dance style and technique, showmanship and energy, and are in a top physical condition. That said, make sure that you work out regularly, attend a variety of dance classes, and research the team (their style, etc.)

Dance Audition Attire
Wear the following to the auditions:
- Crop top showing your midsection
- Non-marking dance sneakers or jazz shoes
- Nude tights or fishnets
- Briefs or hotpants
- Performance-ready hair and makeup
Overview of the Auditions
On June 23, audition registration will begin at 12:00 pm. First, there will be a group warm-up followed by across-the-floor combinations that include jazz walks, turns, and leaps. You will be taught the audition routine and will perform the routine in small groups. All dancers will be given the opportunity to freestyle. Please be reminded that first round auditions are closed to the public.
Pre-Audition Clinics
Get a leg up on the competition, the Grizz Girls are offering a 2-part clinic (June 13 and June 20). During these clinics, you will experience a mock audition trial, learn the choreography, receive tips about your makeup, and more. While the clinics are not mandatory, they are highly encouraged.
