2019 NBA Oklahoma City Thunder Girls Dance Team Auditions Info

The 2019 auditions are fast approaching for the NBA Oklahoma City Thunder Girls Dancers. Today, we’re giving you details of their upcoming tryouts. If you're planning to join this awesome team, here's a quick overview:

PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY, JULY 20. Be sure to visit their team auditions page to stay updated on the location, note down other details, and register. 

Qualifications, Requirements, and What the Judges Look for

The Thunder Girls are looking for applicants who are at least 18 years old by July 2019. You need to be energetic and willing to work hard, be able to pick up dance choreography quickly, have strong teamwork skills, and be physically fit. 

Wear and Bring the Following

For the dance attire, you should wear a two-piece attire, skin-colored nylon tights, non-marking shoes, and your hair down. Please be sure to completely cover any tattoos with makeup or clothing. For the jewelry, the OKC Thunder Girls will only allow stud earrings and engagement/wedding rings. 

Bring water and snacks to the auditions, as well as supplies for touch-ups. 

Overview of the Auditions

The OKC Thunder Girls 2019 auditions consist of three phases: PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS, SEMIFINALS, and FINALS. Preliminaries will take place on July 20. After checking-in, you will do some stretching and warming up and a basic across-the-floor technique. Everyone will be taught a short pom routine and hip-hop style routine to be performed in groups. Semi-finalists will be announced at the end.
