The NBA Utah Zyia Active Jazz Dancers will be holding their 2019 auditions very soon. Today, we’re giving you details of their upcoming tryouts. If you're planning to join this awesome team, here's a quick overview:
PRELIMINARY ROUND (FIRST AND SECOND CUTS) WILL TAKE PLACE ON JULY 6, AT VIVINT SMART HOME ARENA. Registration opens at 8:00 am, and audition officially starts at 9:00 am.
Qualifications, Requirements, and What the Judges Look for
The Jazz Dancers require interested auditionees to be at least 18 years old by July 6, 2019, and a high school graduate. Since fitness is an important factor in dancing, you should have an athletic physique and be physically fit.
As a future member of the Jazz Dancers, you are expected to perform at all home games, make special appearances, and participate in rehearsals twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) and on additional nights as well!
You will be judged based on the following: choreography, personality, overall look, physique, athletic ability, and poise.

2019 Jazz Dancers Audition Attire
For your dance attire, be sure to wear the following:
- Half-tops or sports bras
- Non-marking dance or athletic shoes
- Performance-ready hair and makeup
- Attire for interviews is business professional
Overview of the Auditions
The 2019 Jazz Dancer Auditions are divided into five phases: PRELIMINARIES (July 6), SEMIFINALS (July 8), SELECTION AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF FINALISTS (July 9), INDIVIDUAL INTERVIEWS AND FINAL ROUND (July 10), and NEW TEAM MANDATORY MEETING (July 11). All audition rounds will be held at Vivint Smart Home Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84101.
If you want your mom to come to the auditions, they are allowed to do so only on July 6. Learn more about the audition process right here!

The Utah Zyia Active Jazz Dancers are proud performers for the NBA Utah Jazz. Each woman on the team has a unique dance background, set of interests, and goals. But they all unite to bring more fun and excitement to the crowd. They absolutely love their fans and the fact that they have gained so many valuable experiences and met amazing people.
