2021 NFL Seattle Seahawks Cheerleaders Auditions Info

Auditions are fast approaching! I'm sure you're excited to become part of an NFL pro cheerleading/dance team. Is it the Seattle Seahawks Cheerleaders? Because they've already released this year's audition details. Here's what you need to know about the auditions and getting yourself prepared!
Audition Rounds and Other Details
Here are their 2021 audition dates:
- The open auditions or preliminary and semi-final rounds will be done through video submissions while the final rounds and interviews will be done in person. However, the final rounds and interviews are tentative and subject to change.
- The deadline for the preliminary submissions is on May 21, 2021, at 5 pm Pacific Time.
- Semifinalists will receive emails before or on May 24, 2021, regarding the instructions for the semi-final rounds.
- Finalists will receive emails on or around June 2, 2021.
- The final interviews will be on June 11 and June 12, 2021, at Lumen Field. The time for the interviews will be sent out at a later date of June 12.
- The finals date is June 13 at Lumen Field. Check-in and start time are yet to be announced.
Here are their audition round details:
- Registration is done through this link. At this time, the link is still down so it’s best that you stay tuned until it becomes live/fixed.
- In the online registration, you’re required to submit a colored headshot, a private link to your audition video, and a signed waiver.
- Your private link must be hosted by iCloud, Dropbox, YouTube, or Vimeo.
- Your registration will only be accepted if you have an audition video linked to it.
- In your preliminary and semi-final video submissions, you must state your name and where you are from.
- Your video submissions must have a 1-minute improv/freestyle dance, full out, to a song of your choice.
- Make sure that the music is turned up loud so the judges can hear it.
- The music of your choice should be a clean edit with no profanities or inappropriate language has been removed.
- The videos should be recorded in a 16:9 horizontal position.
- Semifinalists will receive two choreographed dance routines and will choose one to be learned and presented in the semi-final video submission.
- Both preliminary and semi-final video submissions are to be submitted through a link given in an email by the Seahawks Dancers management.
Audition details for former squad members:
- Former squad members who want to audition for the 2021 squad must register before May 14, 2021, and will receive an email containing the semi-final rounds’ instructions along with the 2020 finalists once registered. As said on the Seahawks Cheerleaders audition page, “Excludes 2020 squad members, 2019 members who auditioned for the 2020 squad, and 2020 finalists.”
- Former squad members will go straight to the semi-final rounds.
- If you’re a former Seahawks Cheerleader, please put an N/A where you’re supposed to enter your audition video link.

Qualifications and What the Judges Look For
Qualifications and requirements:
- You must be 18 years of age and older by June 30, 2021.
- You must have a high school diploma, G.E.D., or any equivalency by June 30, 2021.
- Selected candidates must be able to attend all dance rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for the entire season as well as all home games.
Judging Criteria
- The judges and management of the Seahawks dancers are looking for candidates that display high levels of confidence, stage presence, fitness, dance technique, rhythm.

Audition Attire
The seahawks do not require any specific audition or video submission attire. However, you must pick a dancewear that you’re comfortable in and compliments your dance style. For the finalists, it’s highly recommended by the management to wear an attire that has Seahawks colors or logos. But be sure to cover any brand logos of your dancewear.
Prep Classes

There are no prep classes for the Seahawks dancers. Although, you are free to attend any audition prep class or dance clinics of other squads. You can also use the experiences of Seahawks squad members, Kiana and Hailey, as a reference to what you can expect during the auditions and life in the Seahawks pro cheer team.
But we highly recommend that you also watch “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team” or the solo routines of Seahawks Dancers to get an idea of the dance moves that are best to present on your video submissions.

The Seattle Seahawks Cheerleaders perform at all the home games of their NFL team at the Lumen Field Stadium in Seattle, Washington. They are easily identified by their signature blue, white, silver, and yellow-green uniform color themes. Each year, the squad’s management takes as many as 28 members from the auditioning roster to dance for the NFL Seattle Seahawks in their games.
