2026 Chiefs Cheerleader Auditions: Dates & Requirements

The 2026 Chiefs Cheerleader Auditions give dancers a flexible way to audition while still meeting the professional standards of an NFL cheerleading team. Below is a clear breakdown of how auditions work, important dates, and how to prepare.
Audition Format
Preliminary and Semifinal auditions will be held virtually.
Candidates will submit:
- A video performing official audition choreography
- A 1-minute dance solo in a style of their choice
Audition materials and detailed instructions will be sent to registered candidates beginning Saturday, March 21, 2026.
Candidates can learn the choreography in one of two ways:
- In person at the Audition Clinic on March 21 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm CST
- Virtually through a video link emailed to registered candidates
Register early. Audition materials are sent after registration is received, and late registration means less time to learn choreography and submit videos.

Important Dates & Requirements
Audition material released: March 21, 2026
Preliminary video deadline:
- Monday, April 6, 2026
- By 5:00 pm CST (no late submissions accepted)
Age requirement:
- Must be 18 years or older by April 6, 2026
Semifinalists announced: April 10, 2026
Virtual interviews: April 14 – April 17, 2026
Finalists announced: April 20, 2026

In-Person Finals
Final auditions will be held in person from Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3, 2026.
- Finalists must arrive Friday at 5:00 pm CST
- Attendance for the entire weekend is required
The 2026 Chiefs Cheerleader Team will be announced the week of May 4, 2026.
Audition Prep Options (Optional but Helpful)

To help candidates feel prepared, several optional prep opportunities are offered.
Audition Prep-Training Workshops
Prep-training workshops are offered to help candidates understand the team’s style, expectations, and audition process. Each workshop includes choreography and audition-focused training.
Saturday, February 21, 2026
- Virtual Workshop (Zoom): 12:30 – 3:00 pm CST
- In-Person Workshop: 4:00 – 7:30 pm CST
- Cost: $30 per workshop
- Waivers required
- All registrations are final (no refunds)

Audition Prep Dance Classes(In-person)
These classes help candidates sharpen technique, performance quality, and confidence. Each class includes a warm-up, across-the-floor exercises, and a combination.
Class Dates:
- Friday, February 6 | 7:00 – 9:30 pm CST
- Friday, February 20 | 7:00 – 9:30 pm CST
- Saturday, March 7 | 2:00 – 4:30 pm CST
- Tuesday, March 10 | 7:00 – 9:30 pm CST
- Sunday, March 22 | 1:00 – 3:30 pm CST
- Focused on mastering official audition choreography
- Cost: $25 per class
- All 5 classes bundle: $110
- Waivers required

Frequently Asked Questions
Rehearsals begin in June 2026 and are held on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Cheerleaders do not travel to away games but are required to perform at all home games during preseason, regular season, and postseason. All current cheerleaders must audition each year, and auditions are closed to the public.
Dance experience is not required but is recommended. Prep classes are a great way to understand the team’s style and expectations. Most candidates wear two-piece dance attire with jazz shoes or lightweight tennis shoes. Hair and makeup should be styled neatly and worn down, similar to a game-day look.
