1. Listen to a health and fitness podcast. 

If you've been listening to that workout playlist over and over, it's time to switch things up. Silence isn't the best option though because it doesn't excite you. Why not listen to a podcast this time? Here are top 3 podcasts that will give you the knowledge and motivation you need:

2. Do the difficult exercises first.

Leave those easy workouts at the end of your program. Focus on doing a challenging workout first. This allows you to perform that difficult move with more energy. Your mind is fresh and you're likely to push through it. Here's another tip: Don't just do a hard workout first, but be sure to do it early in the morning (when you've had a good night's rest!)

3. Add the "farmer's walk" to your training.

If you can carry heavy groceries while walking towards your car, surely, you can do the farmer's walk. The farmer's walk is a simple workout where you carry an external load such as a kettlebell or dumbbell. While it's simple to do, it targets your upper body, lower body, and your core - all at the same time. For beginners, start with a light load then progress to heavier ones!

4. Drink coffee first.

Coffee can be a great pre-workout drink mainly because it contains caffeine. Caffeine is a stimulant that helps boost athletic performance. It's especially useful for intense movements that last for at least 5 minutes. Take it about 45 minutes to 1 hour before you exercise. 

5. Focus on the muscle you're training! 

If you put your mind on the muscle you're training, you can maximize your movement and get better results. When we're at the gym or some place exercising with friends, we tend to dissociate from our workout by having a chit-chat. Starting today, create that mind-body connection. It's also a form of meditation and a powerful strategy to stay engaged!
