7 Hacks That Will Boost Your Motivation (For Your Pro Cheer Audition Prep)

Admit it:

Sometimes you need that extra dose of motivation to be able to do the things you ought to do for pro cheer audition success. Without motivation, you won’t achieve anything. Motivation reminds you of WHY you’re working towards a goal.

Think about it: You wouldn’t be reading this blog post if you weren’t motivated to become more motivated. Or you wouldn’t have filled out an audition application form if it weren’t for your motivation to become a pro cheerleader!

Check out these top 7 hacks.

1. Just get started.

Motivated or not, I urge you to take the first step. Take action no matter how you feel inside. Action produces desirable results which can increase your motivation along the way. Choose the simplest action you can think of, like watching a video clip of your favorite pro cheer dance team.

2. Find inspiration on a daily basis.

Seek that daily dose of inspiration to exercise, eat healthy, and practice your dancing. Read stories about a pro cheer audition candidate’s journey. Seek out advice from those who have been there, done that. (Read: Patriots Cheerleader Spotlight: Jenna C.) Write a success quote and post it on your mirror.

3. Visualize enjoying what you do.

Not everything you do for audition success will be enjoyable. You’ll find some of them boring. Yet, you need them to succeed! To make every activity worthwhile, here’s what you should start doing: Imagine enjoying that activity! Also, play good music in the background. Music has the power to change your mood and perception.

4. Set time limits for everything.

Knowing how much time you spend on something will motivate you to maximize that time. You begin to focus so you can give it your all. Need to do that HIIT cardio workout? Read one chapter of a pro cheer audition prep book? Set a timer for 1 hour. Try to beat the clock!

5. Stop comparing yourself to others!

Perhaps you’re comparing yourself to another candidate or someone famous on social media. Quit focusing on lack based on what other people have that you don’t have YET… Because everybody is unique. Thoughts on comparison causes you to have a low self-confidence. It cripples you and hinders your progress.

6. Pick one most important project for the day.

Feeling overwhelmed is another big reason for a lack of motivation. Overwhelm kills your mojo. Make your audition prep as manageable as it can be by picking one task to focus on for the day. For example, on a Monday, make it all about researching your dream team.

7. Monitor your thoughts.

If you’ve lived with negative people or come from a dysfunctional background, there’s a chance that your mind is often filled with defeating messages. Remember that your mind can be your ally or enemy. As your ally, it will help you create massive change in your life by giving you the permission to succeed. That is why you should always be aware of what you’re thinking about. Direct it towards the positive. Visualize more positive outcomes!
