Best Morning Beauty Habits You Should Never Skip

Even if you're not a morning person, it's important to have a beauty routine each morning that will keep you vibrant and confident all day - whether you're making a professional cheerleader appearance or participating at a community/public event.  You may be short on time, but you need to remember that as a professional cheerleader, beauty and glamor are a priority.

Here's a list of the best beauty habits you shouldn't miss each morning.

Drink lots of water.

Need a beauty boost first thing in the morning? Drink at least 3 glasses of water. Remember that your body has become mildly dehydrated after 8 hours of sleep. The human body is made up of 60% water. Water is lost not only through urination but also through breathing. Water keeps your skin plump and young looking. Moreover, it gives your skin radiance as toxins are flushed out through your urine.

Apply sunscreen.

No matter what, wear sunscreen. It'll protect you from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun - UVA and UVB. These two types of ultraviolet rays are equally responsible for causing skin cancer, hyperpigmentation, and premature skin aging. Instead of using a moisturizer with sunscreen, it's best to use a standalone sunscreen to maximize skin protection. You may need to reapply it several times a day especially if you'll be spending time outdoors with your cheer sisters.

Eat a protein-rich breakfast.

Protein is comprised of amino acids which are the building blocks of your body. Amino acids play a vital role in creating new cells as well as your hormones. Ditch the sugary cereals and bagels and replace them with a protein-rich breakfast. A high-protein breakfast fortifies your collagen levels so that your skin looks young. You'll also need it for sustaining your muscle mass. Great protein breakfast ideas include yogurt, strawberry orange smoothie, omelet, and mushroom and avocado.

Workout.

There's nothing more rewarding than exercising early in the morning to give you that super admirable post-workout glow. Exercising encourages the release of toxins from your skin and speeds up your metabolism to help you burn more calories. You'll feel a sense of accomplishment and are more likely to make healthier choices throughout the day.

Exfoliate your lips.

After brushing your teeth, use a separate brush with a bit of lip balm to gently brush your lips. This will exfoliate them to get rid of peeling skin. Exfoliated lips look and feel very smooth and serve as the perfect canvas for matte and bright-colored lipsticks. To prevent your lips from flaking, avoid licking them. Also, make sure to keep yourself hydrated.

Meditate.

When we're stressed, our blood vessels constrict. We release cortisol, our primary stress hormone, which degrades collagen and causes inflammation throughout our body. In effect, we get wrinkles and skin breakouts. Meditation has a profound effect on our looks. It allows us to enter a relaxed state. We experience calm and this boosts the production of our feel-good hormones. The calm breathing in meditation helps oxygenate our bodies. This facilitates the release of toxins. Overall, you'll feel and look younger and become happier!

Start your day with a smile.

Starting your day with a smile (real or fake) doesn't only make you feel better, it also boosts your attractiveness. Even the most expensive makeup can't beat a sweet smile. A study reveals that not-so-beautiful faces that smiled were considered more attractive than beautiful faces that didn't. Instead of waking up grumpy, wear a smile on your face. Smile at yourself in the mirror and say something positive to lift your spirits.
