DIY Beauty Hacks Pro Cheerleaders Need To Try Now

Caring for your looks is a huge investment you make when you're a professional cheerleader. But this does not mean that you need to visit the most expensive salons/spas or spend hours in front of the mirror to get yourself all glammed up. There are free, easy shortcuts to achieve that. In this article, we've listed beauty tricks you'll surely love. Enjoy!

Homemade Oatmeal Facial Mask

If you experience skin irritation and acne, you can make a soothing, all-natural oatmeal facial mask at home. Oatmeal isn't only a great way to start your day, it's also an amazing beauty product that has benefits for your skin. It's suitable for all skin types and has anti-inflammatory properties to heal itchy, uncomfortable skin. Because oatmeal contains lubricating fats, it will help moisturize your skin.

Steps:

  • Prepare 4 tablespoons of rolled oats. Grind the oats using your blender or food processor. You should achieve a power-like consistency.
  • Transfer the pulverized oats to a small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of honey. Mix them until they achieve a uniform mixture.
  • Prepare 1 egg. Crack the egg carefully. Remove the egg white. Pour the yolk into the oats and honey mixture. Mix them all until they form a paste.
  • You're now ready to apply the mixture to your face. Leave the face mask on for 15 minutes. Wash off and pat dry with a clean towel.

Fix Clumpy Mascara

Ideally, mascaras need to be replaced every 2 to 4 months. However, there are mascaras that dry out even before they reach this time period. Dry or clumpy mascara looks very unattractive on you! There's a quick fix for that. You only need either of the three - olive oil, contact solution, Visine (or any brand) eye drops.

Steps:

  • Prepare your dry/clumpy mascara.
  • Add 2-3 drops of olive oil/contact solution/eye drops into the mascara tube.
  • Close the lid tightly and shake the tube or rub the applicator inside.

Intensify Your Eye Shadow

Have you fallen in love with a certain eyeshadow shade but felt frustrated because the color lacked intensity? You know you need to make your eyes pop when you're on the field performing. No matter the brand or color of your eye shadow, you can achieve a bold and bright effect using a white eyeliner or eye shadow pencil. White eye pencils make an affordable replacement for the regular eye shadow primer.

Steps:

  • Outline your eyelid area using the white eye pencil. Shade your entire eyelid area with the pencil.
  • Use your finger or a stiff brush to even out the white color.
  • Start applying your favorite eye shadow!

Prevent Nail Polish Bubbles

Bubbles can make their way into your newly polished nails. This usually happens when your nail polish application is too thick or you apply the second coat too soon even before the first coat has dried out. Aside from being patient with your nail polish application, you can prevent bubbles by keeping your polish in the fridge. This also helps thin out the paint and preserves its color.

Aloe Ice Cubes For Sunburn Treatment

Freezing aloe vera can provide relief to sunburnt skin. Because aloe vera contains powerful antioxidants, your skin heals quicker than when you use conventional topical medications. The purpose of freezing is to add a cooling effect on your skin. So whether you're going to spend a day at the beach with your cheer sisters or get caught out on cold days, you're guaranteed to have a natural skin remedy when you get home.

Steps:

  • If you have the actual aloe vera plant, simply scoop the gel from the plant. If not, you can purchase a 100% natural aloe vera gel at the grocery store.
  • Fill an ice cube tray with the aloe vera gel and freeze.

Get Rid Of Split Ends At Home

Split ends happen due to several factors. Breakage in hair is a result of excessive styling, heat (from the sun and styling tools), stress, and diet. While these factors cannot be avoided at times due to juggling between regular work and cheerleading, you can trim the split ends yourself whenever they show up without having to visit the salon.

Steps:

  • Have a pair of hair shears ready. Avoid using regular scissors since they can cause more split ends.
  • Twist sections of your hair.
  • Trim the hair stands that stick out to get rid of split ends.

Use Coconut Oil For Several Beauty Tricks

Coconut oil is incorporated in a lot of beauty products because it hydrates, repairs, and nourishes the skin. Included in the composition of coconut oil are vitamin E, fats, and proteins. Instead of buying separate costly beauty items, you can use a jar of coconut oil for multiple beauty purposes. When choosing coconut oil at the nearest store, look for the USDA Organic label. Below are ways to use this all-natural product:

  • Makeup remover - Rub the oil onto the area using a circular motion. Wipe excess oil with a damp washcloth. Your makeup should easily come off.
  • Hardened and cracked feet - Apply some coconut oil to the cracks in your feet daily and notice that your skin gets softer within a few days.
  • Chapped Lips - Your lips can dry out due to cold or dry weather. You can apply the oil directly to your lips using your finger whenever needed. Another great option is to make a DIY coconut oil lip balm to add a nice color to your lips.
  • For shaving after you shower - Rub a small amount of coconut oil on your arms or legs and use a razor to shave.
