The Celtics dancers are the official cheerleading and dance team for the Boston Celtics. One of the best squads in the NBA, the Celtics dancers are well-loved by their fans. These women perform at home games, travel worldwide to meet fans, make appearances, participate in community events, and enjoy salon and spa makeovers with their cheer sisters. This year, they will be holding their preliminary auditions in Los Angeles, New York, and Boston.

2017 Tryouts

Interested applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Another requirement is that you should be able to attend all rehearsals which are scheduled three times a week. Make sure that you have a flexible schedule and transportation to attend all rehearsals and games.
AUDITION DATES & TIMES
DAY 1 (PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS)
LOS ANGELES:
Date: May 18, 2017 (Thursday)
Time: Registration starts at 6:30 PM while audition starts at 7:00 PM.
Location: California State University, Long Beach, Department of Dance CSULB, 1250 Bellflower Blvd. Long Beach, CA
BOSTON:
Date: June 24, 2017 (Saturday)
Time: Registration starts at 11:00 AM while audition starts at 12:00 PM.
Location: Suffolk University Gymnasium, 148 Cambridge St. Boston, MA
NEW YORK:
Date: June 28, 2017 (Wednesday)
Time: Registration starts at 8:00 AM while audition starts at 8:30 AM.
Location: Broadway Dance Center, 322 West 45th St., 3rd Floor, New York, NY
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING THE PRELIMINARY AUDITIONS
- Those who will be auditioning in Los Angeles and New York will be taught a basic dance technique. This will be incorporated later on with a jazz/funky combination. The moves are fast so you have to do your best to learn the dance as best as you can and perform it for the judges. At the end of this round, names of those who will proceed to the Finals Workshop/Final Audition will be announced.
- No cuts will be made for the preliminaries held in Boston. The first round of cuts will take place on DAY 2, July 7, 2017 (Friday). Still, candidates in Boston will be taught a routine which will be performed for the judges. The Team Director, Marina Ortega, will host a Q&A session.

Time: Please check-in by 5:30 PM. Audition begins at 7:00 PM.

What Will You Wear To The Auditions?
- Two-piece dance outfit with flesh-colored nylons
- Sneakers or jazz shoes
Please cover any tattoos. Wear your hair down. Your hair and makeup should be game day ready.
