Complete information about the tryouts and access to online registration can be found here: 2017 Orlando Magic Dancer Auditions
To qualify as a candidate, all ladies need to be at least 18 years old. There is no maximum age limit. Current squad members' ages range between 19 to 31 years old. In terms of dance ability, you should be able to have experience in dance styles such as jazz and hip-hop. Tumbling skills are a bonus but not a requirement. The audition process may last an entire day so you need to be prepared to extend your time.
If you make the team, you need to commit to attending all rehearsals, home games, charity, events, public appearances, and other Magic Dancers' activities. Have a flexible schedule. If you cannot commit, then do not audition. For practice rehearsals, Magic dancers rehearse 2-3 nights in a week, from 6:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays). Additional rehearsals may take place whenever needed. Pre-game rehearsals will also take place during game nights.
Remember that being a Magic Dancer is a part-time job. The hours you work will vary. You will be paid per game, per rehearsal, and per appearance. You can have a professional full-time job as long as you are available for all Magic Dancer activities.
