In 2016, the Cincinnati Ben-Gal cheerleading squad had a total of 30 members. All cheerleaders get to perform at the Brown Paul Stadium in front of over 64,000 fans. When not cheering during game days, the squad participates in charity events, conventions, and more.
Being a Ben-Gal cheerleader is not a full-time job. However, you'll need to commit yourself to attending practices which may be scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday night from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Whether you're a stay at home mother, a student, or a full-time/part-time employee, you'll be able to join the team.

Any interested applicant should be at least 20 years old by September 1, 2017.
The Cincinnati Ben-Gals cheerleading squad prioritizes fitness. If you wish to be a part of this great squad, your weight should be proportionate to your height. Any interested applicant, veteran or a newbie, should undergo the auditions and prove herself worthy to be a squad member. Veterans get to skip the first few rounds.
During the audition process, you will be taught dance routines and be asked to perform in front of the judges. If you have tattoos, make sure to have them covered.
AUDITION SCHEDULE:
- Date/Time: April 24, 2017; April 25, 2017 (Second call backs) @ 7:00 PM (Doors open at 6:00 PM)
- Mandatory Boot Camp for Rookie Winners and Veterans: April 25, 26 @ 7:00 PM (Doors open at 6:00 PM)
- Mandatory Dress Rehearsal: May 4, 2017 (Thursday) @ 7:00 PM at The Syndicate, Newport, KY
- Finals (Open to the public): May 7, 2017 @ 3:00 PM at The Syndicate, Newport, KY
What To Wear
During the tryouts, you are expected to wear dance spandex shorts and a cropped spandex bra type top. Please bring dance sneakers or tennis shoes.
How Will You Be Judged?
You will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Personality
- Dance skills
- Presentation
- Showmanship
- Stage presence
- Fitness
- Ability to work in a group
Prep Classes To Help You Get Ready

To give you a competitive advantage during the tryouts, the NFL Cincinnati Ben-Gals Cheerleading & Dance Team offers special prep classes. You may or may not join these workshops. However, these are highly recommended.
You'll get to meet the squad's choreographers, coaches, and captains. These classes will cover audition tips and dance routines. Classes will last from March 7 - April 20 (Every Tuesday), from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.
