The San Francisco 49ers Cheerleaders, popularly known as the Gold Rush, is one of the most reputable cheerleading teams in the NFL. As ambassadors to the San Francisco 49ers, these women perform at home games, participate in international events (Europe, Latin America, and Asia), their yearly photo shoot, and more. Those who make this year's team auditions will get to enjoy these special privileges and most of all, make lifelong friends with their cheer sisters.

2017 Tryouts

To qualify as a member of the Gold Rush, you need to be at least 18 years old by May 1, 2017. Take note that there is no age limit. Another important requirement is that you should be able to attend rehearsals which will be held every Saturday starting May, a 2-day minicamp in June, all home games, appearances, photo shoots, and other relevant team events. This means that you need to have a flexible schedule.
The audition process this year consists of 2 rounds: Preliminary Audition and Finals
PRELIMINARY AUDITION
- Date: April 30, 2017 (Sunday)
- Location: City National Civic, 135 West San Carlos Street, San Jose, CA 95113
- What to expect: In this round, you will be judged based on your dance ability, individual application, showmanship, and crowd appeal. If you make this round, you will proceed to the Finals where you will be interviewed and asked to perform a final dance audition.
FINALS
- Dates: Finalist prep class on May 1 (Monday), Interview on May 3 (Wednesday), and Final Dance Audition on May 4 (Thursday)
- Location: City National Civic, 135 West San Carlos Street, San Jose, CA 95113
- What to expect: You will be interviewed and asked to perform a dance audition.
What Will You Wear?
- Dancewear
- Jazz shoes or athletic shoes with non-marking soles
How Can You Prepare For The Cheer Tryouts?
The Gold Rush offers workshops throughout the month of April. These workshops will give you tips on the audition process, teach you the team's practice routines, and more.
