How to Make Your Skin Glow Naturally

So you’ve bought various products in the past just to make your skin glow. Some have worked but are expensive and others may have brought harm instead of good. What if I told you that there are simple daily practices to get that radiant glowing skin? There’s even an effective face mask with natural ingredients that you can make easily at home! Don’t believe me? Read until the end then.

1. Limit your shower to 10 minutes

Long hot showers wash away your skin’s protective oils and strip moisture. It is okay to take a long hot bath but you shouldn’t do it very often. Keep in mind to keep the shower water temperature cool or cold and shower for 10 minutes or less.

2. Humidify your room when your sleep

Moist skin is susceptive to a naturally radiant glow. While we sleep our skin is dry due to our body’s reduced activities. The dryness is increased especially on winter nights. When you sleep on winter evenings or on cold nights in general, run a humidifier on to moisturize your room and your skin.

3. Use fat-added soaps

Antibacterial soaps like Dial, Irish Spring, or Safeguard dry your skin. Have you noticed how there are white marks when you lightly scratch your skin after a bath? That’s a sign of naturally dry skin. Use soaps like Dove or Neutrogena. These soaps have added-fats that’ll leave your skin with an oily yet beneficial film.

4. Keep your beauty products clean and simple

If you have sensitive skin, you must stay away from products that are colorful, fragrant, bubbly, or antibacterial in nature. Not only will your skin be dry, but it will be irritated as well. You’ll not only lose a natural skin glow, but your skin will also have short-term problems that would ruin you pro cheer activities.

5. Use a loofah while showering

While bathing in a short cold shower, scrub your skin with a loofah in a gentle and circular motion to remove ingrown hair and dead skin cells. To make your skin more smooth and glowing, drop a few alpha-hydroxy products on the loofah scrub. Alpha-hydroxy products are non-irritating and can brighten your skin while promoting collagen production.

6. Eat healthily and take supplements

A naturally glowing skin can be a result of a healthy diet. So eat a lot of veggies and fruits that are high on vitamin A, C, and B content. Good food sources of these vitamins are spinach, broccoli, lettuce, citrus fruits, red meat, and fish. To increase your body’s vitamin A, C, and B balance even further, add different supplements to your diet. These Tudimo Nutrition and PHYTO products are good supplements to add to your list.

7. Don’t use scented products when going out

Scented products like lotions and perfumes under the sun will result in blotches that ruin a perfect glowing skin. The risk of these blotches appearing amplifies if the applied skin area is exposed to sun rays. Sensitive skin or not, everyone is at risk of skin blotching. Stay safe by using an unscented lotion or lightly spraying your perfume on your clothes only. You can also use an umbrella for shade if unscented products are unavailable.

8. Use a papaya face mask

Ripe papayas have papains - a mild exfoliator enzyme. When applied to your skin, it will remove dead skin cells which makes your skin younger and brighter looking. You will need a few pieces of ripe papaya, a teaspoon of Fuller’s earth, and a teaspoon of honey. Fuller’s earth will cleanse your pores, remove grime and oils, and improve your complexion. The honey will moisturize and hydrate your skin after the grime is removed from your pores.

For the mask-making procedure, mash the ripe papaya or cut it into little pieces. Then add Fuller’s earth and honey to it. Mix all of them together until the mix turns into a paste.

Apply the paste to all of your face and neck. Let it stay on for 20 minutes then rinse the mask off with cool water.

Making your skin glow naturally doesn’t have to involve expensive chemically-filled products. In fact, it’s the opposite. A diet enriched with skin-healthy vitamins and simple skincare products can give you a moist, radiant, and healthy glowing skin without harm and cost.
