Looking Flawless During Auditions: Quick Solutions to Skin Problems

Want a flawless complexion on the audition day? Of course, you do. It's important to look the part, and that also means making sure that you have great-looking skin. Appearance is one of the major things that the judges consider when making the first cut. Remember: Nail that first impression.

In today's article, we're going to show you fast and easy solutions for your common skin concerns. Our skin changes from time to time, depending on your sleep, habits, food, and environment. You don't want redness or a new pimple to be visible on the big day, correct? So keep reading.

Undereye dark circles

If you don't get enough sleep, it will show as undereye circles. And while you know that a good night's sleep is essential for the big day, it's also possible that you can be extremely busy or something unexpected happens that requires you to stay up late.

So here's what you should do: Prep the skin under your eyes with brightening eye cream and dab lightly. Next, apply concealer with a shade that matches your skin tone. Start from the inner corner of the eye since this is the darkest area. Blend the concealer by tapping gently into your skin using your ring finger. Hold the concealer in place by dapping a little translucent powder.

Blemishes

What you need is a concealer product that's designed to instantly camouflage skin imperfections. The same product should also be able to treat, not just cover, blemishes. If this isn't available, at least choose something that's free of skin irritants like parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate.

Here are a few great options to try:

Note: Remember to clean your sponge or brush when applying concealer to prevent further skin irritation. Work in small amounts rather than applying too much right away. This avoids a cakey look.

Oiliness

If you have oily skin, the last thing you want on the audition day is your face looking shiny. Excess oil will also ruin your makeup! Before applying makeup, be sure to cleanse your face. Use a cleaner that instantly eliminates sheen such as the Burt's Bees Soap Bark & Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream or Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleanser.

After cleansing your face, apply a makeup primer. Focus more on the oiliest areas such as the forehead, nose, and chin. A primer will help seal off those oil-secreting pores. Lastly, apply a makeup foundation that's oil-free and long-wearing. Good products include L'Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation and Lorac Porefection Foundation

Dry skin

If you're experiencing dryness due to irritation or an allergic reaction, the easiest thing you can do is to apply a very thin layer of body lotion or hand cream to the dry areas. This should dissolve the flakes while avoiding shine. When you apply foundation, do it using an applicator sponge for an even look.

Does your skin still look dry even after you apply makeup? Spray on a hydrating mist. You'll find a lot of options at Sephora.
