Pro Cheer Audition Success: 6 Things You Need Besides Talent!
More often than not, we think that to succeed in a pro cheer audition, a candidate has to be talented. But do you realize that raw talent isn't the only thing that matters to stand out? Personal characteristics and habits are essential too, for they help you go the extra mile in your audition practice. They enable you to create a positive impression on the judges. Below is a list of audition tips that go beyond your natural talents:
1. Arriving on time
Being on time may not sound like a big deal to you, but it does have a lot of benefits. It shows people that you value their time and that you are a reliable person. Whether you are attending the preliminaries or have already proceeded to the interview round, be 15 to 30 minutes early.
2. Confidence
One of the things that make you attractive to people is self-confidence. Confidence is a powerful magnet because when you are confident, you show others that you accept yourself on every level. Start building up your self-confidence today by believing that you can achieve your dreams. Visualize your audition success. Silence your inner critic. Most importantly, prepare early!
3. Being coachable
What does it mean to be coachable? Being coachable is about your openness and receptiveness to learning, feedback, and constructive criticism. Even if it makes you feel vulnerable, it is the secret to reaching your biggest goals in life. The key is to use every situation to your advantage. Never take it as a personal attack.
4. Energy
Energy enables professional cheerleaders to maintain peak performance. To build that high energy you need for the big day and beyond, create a routine that increases your energy. Start with exercises that fight fatigue. Great examples are running, moderate-intensity walking, HIIT, rowing, and boxing.

5. Being prepared
The longer you keep up with your dance classes, nutrition, and fitness, the better the results you get. Knowing that you've started your preparation as early as possible gives you the skill and confidence you need to show your very best self. Keep in mind that some things take time to master and develop. That is why months, not weeks of preparation matters.
6. Collaborating with others
Are you a team player?? Professional cheerleading and dance teams value candidates who are able to work hand in hand with others with a cheerful spirit. For a team to be successful, it needs people who are willing to compromise and are not hesitant to ask for and offer help!
