Pro Cheer Productivity Habits to Practice Each Day
One of the most challenging aspects of being a pro cheerleader is the time commitment needed to meet the demands of the team. A career in cheerleading means you’ll be very busy, which could take a massive toll on your work routine and productivity. With so many things to do on top of your weekly appearances, rehearsals, game days, and more, you need to learn how to spend your time wisely and be more productive.
Improving your productivity is key to balancing your personal and professional life. When you’re able to complete your tasks efficiently, it gives you more time, energy, and focus for other pursuits, including self-care and family gatherings. Here are five pro cheer productivity habits to practice daily.
1. Plan ahead
Planning is one of the most effective practices that allow you to complete your tasks in as little time as possible. Dealing with your day as it comes up and simply reacting to things doesn’t only make your responsibilities time-consuming but also physically and mentally exhausting. Although pro cheerleaders have busy schedules, most of their activities have a fixed timetable, and the dates are given a few days or weeks before the event.
When you plan your day or week, you’ll know what things you need to accomplish, learn how to organize them accordingly, and prepare yourself to be in the right mindset. This will help provide more time with your family or to pursue your hobbies.
2. Create a daily to-do list
Once you’ve developed a plan, you should create a daily to-do list, write them down, and put it on paper. Outlining your appointments, rehearsals, tasks, or meetings for the day in a bullet journal or calendar will give you a visual reminder of your responsibilities and help you sort them out. Identify all the possible solutions to accomplish those things without taking too much of your time. The goal of a to-do list is to help you complete as many tasks as possible and ensure you won’t miss anything essential for the day.
3. Prioritize your tasks
Prioritization makes sure that you always finish the most important tasks first. Pro cheerleaders have a lot of things they need to do, but productive women know they don’t have to do all of them in one day. Since pro cheerleading is a part-time career, you need to ask yourself which matters more in your life. Is it school, family, work, or pro cheerleading? You should identify your daily priorities and focus on them first to avoid distractions.
4. Focus on one task at a time
Now that you’ve identified your priorities, you should focus on one task at a time and only move on to the next when you’ve finished what you're doing. Doing multiple activities at once may make your day feel more productive, but in reality, you’re not getting as much done as you could be and might be compromising the quality of your work or performance down the road. For instance, you shouldn’t be working on your dance routines while studying for the exam.
5. Recharge frequently
As much as you want to accomplish all your tasks in the least amount of time, you also need to rest and ensure you’re performing at an optimal level. Working all the time drains your energy and compromises the quality of your work. While taking quick naps takes a little of your time, it can help reenergize yourself and boost your mental capacity. As a result, it allows you to accomplish tasks more efficiently and perform better, especially during events or auditions.
Conclusion
Undeniably, practicing these productivity habits each day goes a long way in enhancing your personal growth. It can be instrumental in achieving harmony between your personal life and your pro cheer career. Remember, you’re not just a pro cheerleader but also a mother, wife, student, and co-worker, which means your priorities may change now and then. If you want to accomplish your dreams with less mental exhaustion, you should know the things you want most in life and work on them — one task at a time.
