The San Antonio Spurs are calling on South Texas' top talent to audition for the 2025-2026 Spurs Hype Squad — one of the most electrifying and diverse entertainment teams in professional sports. Whether you've performed on a basketball court, cheer mat, dance stage, or turf field, this is your shot to shine.
What Is the Spurs Hype Squad?
More than just performers, the Spurs Hype Squad is a dynamic team of dancers, breakdancers, tumblers, and stunters who bring nonstop energy to all 41 Spurs home games, select Austin Spurs games, and community and international appearances. These performers are brand ambassadors who light up the arena with high-energy routines, interactive promotions, and powerful fan engagement.
Audition Overview & Important Dates
The audition process is designed to showcase athleticism, creativity, professionalism, and energy. Here’s what you need to know:
Open Call Registration (June 1 – June 20)
- For all information and to complete application forms, visit https://www.nba.com/spurs/hypesquad
- Registration opens June 1 at 9:00 AM CST and closes June 20 at 11:59 PM CST.
- No videos or photos are needed at this stage.
- All applicants will receive a choreography video link on June 21.
Video Submissions (Due June 23)
- Submit your choreography video by 11:59 PM CST on June 23.
- Stunters and breakdancers should also submit an optional skills video.
Finalists Notified (By June 27)
- Selected candidates will be invited to the in-person final auditions.
Final Auditions (July 11 – July 13)
- Held in San Antonio, TX, invite-only.
- Finalists will be evaluated through panel interviews, choreography, freestyle talent, and group workouts.
Training Camp (August 7 – August 10)
- For the official 2025-26 Hype Squad team members only (dates subject to change).
Mandatory Requirements
- Must be 18+ by August 1, 2025
- Live within 75 miles of San Antonio
- Reliable transportation
- Two weekly practices (typically Tue/Thu evenings)
- Available for all home games
- No concurrent team memberships
- Passport preferred (for international games)
Preferred Talents
Whether you’re a dancer, tumbler, breakdancer, or stunter, here’s what they’re looking for:
- Strong choreography learning skills
- Optional but highly encouraged skills:
- Kip ups / headsprings
- Triple turns (dancers)
- Windmills / hand hops (breakdancers)
- Standing tucks / elite tumbling (tumblers)
- Elite stunts with creative dismounts (stunters)

Tips for Success
- Train Early – Start preparing choreography, stamina, and freestyle performance now.

- Dress to Impress – Wear required black Spurs or black athletic attire, styled hair, no jewelry (except small earrings/nose rings), and sneakers or dance shoes.
- Energy is Everything – Judges are looking for performers who radiate positivity and can engage a crowd.
- Be Yourself – Authenticity and enthusiasm go a long way on and off the court.
