Steps To Move You In The Direction Of Your Pro Cheerleading Goals

A challenge that a lot of aspiring pro cheerleaders experience is finding the motivation and inspiration every day to work towards their goals. We are constantly in an on and off cycle and what triggers us to be in that “off” cycle is when we are discouraged. It’s either we don’t feel supported by family and friends, are afraid, lack a clear action plan, or feel burned out.

Whatever it is that resists your path to becoming a professional cheerleader, whether it’s life circumstances or the people closest to you, you need to understand that they cannot block you from moving forward unless you give them the permission to.

Every obstacle is an opportunity for you to move in the direction of your goal. Realize that hardships are occasions that allow you to grow and truly transform into the professional cheerleader you dream to be. How do you face your worries? How do you push even when it’s hard? This simple guide will show you how.

1. Embrace the fact that there are things that are simply beyond your control.

We often like to depend on external circumstances to feel good about ourselves. We seek for praise and support and look for “signs” to confirm the value of our goals. When people don’t believe in you or if you failed to make your team multiple times in the previous years, you lose focus.

Don’t waste your time and energy worrying about people or events that are out of your control. Resist taking part in these negativities. They are not yours to bear. Concentrate on what you can manage – your feelings, habits, and mental and physical fitness. Remember that you are in the driver’s seat. Work with what you can.

2. Finish strong.

We’ve been told that success rituals in the morning such as getting up early to meditate, workout, and prepare a healthy breakfast, help us start the day right. It’s true that how we begin our morning sets the tone for the rest of the day. But what if you hit the snooze button at 5:00 am, went for a dessert at lunch, and had a terrible day at work? Do you need to reset the day or should you push forward?

While it’s good to start in a positive manner, it’s even better to finish strong. Unless your day ends, you have every chance to redeem yourself. You have every opportunity to make things right so you can be proud of yourself. Don’t throw away your chance to feel empowered before you go to bed at night just because things didn't turn out so well according to plan. If you had an unhealthy breakfast and lunch, have a healthy fat loss dinner. Exercise in the afternoon. Meditate at night. Most of all, think about what went right during the day.

3. Improve how you feel by changing your physiology.

Would you believe that your body and state of mind are interconnected? Notice your facial expression, posture, and muscle tension, and movements when you’re sad. If you only pay close attention, you will realize that you can take advantage of this mind-body connection to alter your present state.

Try to experiment with this: The next time you feel troubled or anxious, wear a smile. Stand straight and tall. Walk in a purposeful way. When you speak, do it clearly and persuasively. Better yet, exercise! Go for a run. Practice your jazz and hip-hop freestyle routine. These will stimulate the release of your feel-good hormones.

4. Refuse to be average.

Life is too short to put limits on yourself, to sit back, and wait for great things to happen. Most women like you visualize becoming a professional cheerleader but not doing the necessary work to make it come true. People who do average things have average lives. Average people are afraid to set high standards because they doubt their ability to meet them. Average people avoid failure. Average people never get anything done because they’re distracted by the next new shiny thing!

Today, refuse to be average and start breaking barriers. Stop living a life of what ifs, alibis, and self-justifications. Everybody experiences resistance when it comes to reaching their goals. Remember that you can respond to resistance in a totally different way. What brings transformation in your life is the thing you do that you really don’t feel like doing because it’s hard work.

5. Stop being reactive all the time.

So you fell off the wagon and got mad and frustrated. You are painfully surprised that training to ace the pro cheerleading auditions is not so easy after all. An emotionally reactive person is one who lingers on problems and feels defeated.

You can choose to be a proactive woman, a proactive pro cheerleader candidate, by looking forward to your goals with hope. You can intellectually interpret your personal challenges and stop being so dramatic about them. Most of all, you can anticipate obstacles and prepare for them!
