It's easy to get discouraged when you think that your progress is slow. You may feel tired whenever you're working out, or you're not losing any more weight. But that doesn't mean that you should lose hope. Maybe you're not considering other important aspects aside from the exercise itself.

1. Improper workout practice
Your efforts to exercise regularly will be useless if you don't do the routine correctly. Note that simply going to the gym is not the same as doing a proper workout. Exercising correctly will also prevent accidents and injuries.
So don't just move weights around. Feel your muscles contracting, your heart racing, and fat burning. It's best if you put in enough energy and effort to achieve your goal.
2. A lack of quality sleep
Sleep is an essential part of every fitness plan. Having a good night's sleep allows your muscles to grow and repair after extensive exercise. If you stay up late, you'll feel more tired, which can hamper your workout progress.
Improve your sleep by creating and following a predictable schedule. Avoid caffeine or other substances that may interfere with sleep. Establish a relaxing routine before bed, like taking a bath and doing meditation.
3. Repetitive workout routine
Our bodies learn to adapt to different conditions. The same goes for exercise. Doing the same routine or lifting the same weight can slow your progress, especially when you’re trying to lose weight.
Vary your routine from time to time. Keep challenging yourself by adding heavier weights or targeting other muscle groups. Plan beforehand to have an easier transition.
4. Low exercise intensity
This part is dependent on your fitness goal. Do you want to focus on getting a healthy weight or are you trying to improve your physique?
If you're focusing on getting healthy or reducing the risk of diseases, then you don't have to increase the intensity of your workout. Instead, ensure the intensity is enough to burn fat and excess energy. But if you want to build muscle and improve your build, then try executing a more intense exercise.
5. Poor diet
Nutrition is always linked to your fitness. So even though you're working out, having a poor diet can still negatively affect your body. If you want to lose weight, don't eat too much but rather take healthy, low-calorie meals. Make sure you get the nutrients essential to your body to complement your fitness routine.
6. Training too much
You may think that more exercise means a better result. But that isn't always the case. In fact, you need to take enough rest and let your body recover. Overtraining will only cause your progress to plateau rather than improve. So don't hesitate to take a rest and listen to your body.
