5 Ways to Improve Your Spiritual Wellness for a Thriving Pro Cheer Career
In our previous blog posts, we’ve discussed ways to improve your mental, emotional, and physical condition. Yet, we’ve seldomly discussed making yourself spiritually stronger. An aspiring or current pro cheerleader with a healthy spirit is a woman who’s able to make clearer decisions in her everyday life.
She also has more focus, energy, and endurance for doing tasks to succeed in school, work, motherhood, and pro cheerleading. In this article, you’ll learn tips and everyday habits you should develop to have a better sense of your inner self. So that no matter how hard life hits you with discouragement, you’ll still have the vigor to perform at your best on the audition stage and arena.
1. Introspection
This is the act of evaluating your thought process, ideologies, and actions. Through introspection, you can see things from a deeper perspective such as how your decisions affect your life in the long run. Because of it, you’re able to identify the cause of your stress so you can avoid them in the future and be an efficient pro cheerleader.
2. Explore your spiritual core
We are often influenced by our surroundings. Sometimes other people inspire us to pursue things. Because of this, we’re often left prone to develop an identity crisis. People who are spiritually healthy make a habit of finding out who they are as a person regularly.
By applying this to your life as a pro cheerleader, you’re able to strive to be the woman you want to be. Not like others who are doubtful of themselves and would easily lose focus of their goals.
3. Find mentorship
Find comfort in times of distress in the company of authority figures in your congregation. Nuns, pastoress, and other female leaders in your religion can nourish your soul by offering words of wisdom. Even if you’re secular, you can still seek advice from community leaders, friends, and family members.
However, please note that some religious and personal teachings can go against the nature of pro cheerleading. So relate the lessons to your life instead of understanding everything literally.
4. Spend time in nature
Urban environments distract us from being aware of our inner self. By being in the company of animals, trees, and plants, you’ll find inner peace and gain a new perspective on your life. If you feel that the whole world is working against you due to the misfortunes you had, one morning spent walking in a forest park will help you understand that everything is just the way it is.
One good thing about spending time in nature is that you can combine it with your fitness routine. You can run on a forest trail and take a break to do yoga or have a weekend activity that involves getting out of populous areas for a while.
5. Forgive and forget
Hatred is a disease of the human heart, body, and soul. Yet, it affects the latter more. Grudges don’t help you to sleep well at night and it messes with your inner peace. To prevent hatred from growing in you, remember all the people who’ve done you wrong.
Then forgive them and let go, especially if their trespasses aren’t crimes. The world will never run out of jerks. That’s just the way everything is and we can’t do anything about it. It’s best to focus on being a better person and leave rotten people to rot even more.
Like physical and emotional wellness, your spiritual health depends on your own doing. If you know that doing something, being in an environment, or the company of people won’t do you any good for your soul, stop everything, calm yourself, and leave.
