5 Weight Loss Snacks That Satisfy You Anytime and Anywhere
Wherever we go and no matter what we do, we need to take breaks to replenish our energies. Not because of hunger alone but also to ensure our ability to accomplish the tasks ahead throughout the day. And women in the pro cheer community are some of those who need to always have goodies in their bags.
The problem is that when it comes to snacks, we think of packaged chips, carbonated drinks, and other processed foods. While these products help you stay active as you work your main career and do your audition prep tasks or squad activities, they are often high in bad carbs and trans fat which causes energy crashes and ultimately leads to weight gain.
By reading this article, you’ll be able to gain more ideas about which highly energizing snacks you can eat on the go without messing with your weight management efforts. Some may even help you lose those extra pounds.
1. Hummus and veggies
Rich in protein and fiber, hummus is an easy snack that will quickly fill you up. Making your own homemade hummus is healthier than store-bought. Then, pair it with veggies to get the vitamins and minerals your body needs.
2. Fruit and nut butter
Almond nut butter is an excellent source of good fats. It’s often matched with apple slices because of the great blend of sweet and nutty taste. Overall, this combination is one of the best choices because it doesn’t only make you full but it also aids in your digestion.
3. Mixed nuts
A mix of cashews, almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts, and hazelnuts is the best choice if you want to have a snack that requires less preparation. After eating a handful, drink a lot of water to get that feeling of fullness. Mixed nuts are high in calories so you should consume them in moderation. Unless you have a long squad practice schedule where you’ll need a lot of energy.
4. Red bell pepper and guacamole
Contrary to its name, red bell peppers do not contain capsaicin - the compound that brings heat and spiciness to the mouth. They are rich in antioxidants and vitamin C which are beneficial in preventing sun damage and keeping your skin plump and youthful. In short, red bell pepper as a snack is ideal for dancers who practice under the sun. Add guacamole for fiber and healthy fats.
5. Grapefruit
Aside from its high vitamin C, fiber, and water content for fullness, grapefruits can help lower fasting insulin levels. As a result, you can manage your appetite better. When accompanied by exercise, you’re able to burn more fat and lose weight in a shorter amount of time.
Weight loss snacks are only effective when consumed in moderation and are accompanied by physical activity. It’s important that you should practice portion control. If you have no physical activities and only want to have snacks to stave off hunger, pack 10-50 grams and carry more water.
If you’re less tolerant of the fiber found in veggies and nuts, you can opt for meat-based snacks. A few examples would be pork rinds, hard-boiled eggs, turkey or beef jerky, biltong, smoked salmon bites, or a can of tuna.
