6 Ways You're Hurting Your Skin Without Realizing It!
You could have the best intentions for your skin, but still have habits that ruin it! Flawless and glowing skin is a dream come true for all aspiring and current pro cheerleaders. It reflects good health.
In today's blog post, we're going to explore six sneaky habits that are doing more harm than good to your skin. Read and learn.
1. Your showers are too hot
Hot showers may sound like a luxury, but they strip your skin of its natural oils and cause dryness. Hot showers also tend to worsen a skin condition you're trying to cure. Instead, take a lukewarm shower. Apply a moisturizer after you bath.
2. You eat lots of sugar
When it comes to skin health, your diet plays an important role. If you're like most women, you consume a lot of sweet foods that raise your blood sugar levels fast. Common culprits include white bread, white rice, pastries, and shakes. A low-sugar diet doesn't only help boost your weight loss, but it also reduces your acne.
3. You're a pimple popper
After seeing a huge zit on your face, the last thing you should do is to pop it. Control any urge to pop as it will only make the pimple worse. It could also lead to permanent scarring. Dermatologists know how to extract acne using sterile instruments. Also, try an over-the-counter pimple gel.
4. Getting hair products on your face
Hair care products contain oil that can find its way to your skin and clog your pores. If you've discovered a new breakout despite eating healthily, your hair product could be the culprit. Skin areas commonly affected include the hairline, neck, upper back, and shoulders.
5. Using too many exfoliation products
Using multiple forms of exfoliation at once, such as facial scrubs and AHA exfoliants, can leave your skin irritated. Physical exfoliants should be used no more than twice a week, while chemical exfoliant should be used only three nights on.
6. You don't wash your face before bed
Your face is exposed to dirt and bacteria during the day, which can lead to breakouts and wrinkles. Never sleep in your makeup. When washing your face, be sure to use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser.
