7 Self-Care Ideas to Help You Get Through Stressful Days of Your Pro Cheer Life

Life as a member of the pro cheer community can be stressful at times. a  lot of us work full-time and part-time jobs. Some are even studying tertiary education while others are busy being mothers. There are also those who do it all.

If I would say that we always remember to have our “me” or self-care time, I would be lying. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t think or try to care for our own welfare. By exploring various self-care ideas, we can stay sane and healthy while still being able to successfully pursue our personal aspirations.

Discover the best self-care ideas below.

1. Work out in nature

Jog, do yoga, bodyweight training, or other pro cheer activities outside your home from time to time. While it’s more convenient to exercise indoors, the fresh outdoor air and early morning sunlight will also provide you with a lot of health benefits. Not to mention there are a lot of peaceful natural environments in contrast to the bustle and hustle of urban settings.

2. Go on a short vacation

If you have been itching for time off from work and everything else but haven’t due to some circumstances, now is the time to plan a vacation and execute it. It can be in a different state or overseas depending on your budget. What’s important is that you can reset your mind and flush all your worries out.

3. Make your bath more luxurious

The #1 thing Japanese people do to cope with their stress is by bathing in a hot tub after work. Now in the US, this may not always be available. But if you have a tub or a shower heater in the bathroom, you can make a hot milk bath with petals or have a hot aromatherapy shower. Then, play some relaxing music and light up romantic candles as you bathe your stresses away.

Budget luxury bathers suggest buying an inflatable pool that can handle hot water. You can then put it in the backyard and submerge yourself as you gaze into the night sky.

4. Spend at least 20 minutes daily to declutter and prep up

Stress also comes from chaos and there’s no other place prone to disorder than your home. Give yourself at least 20 minutes every day to tidy up your bedroom, home gym, home office (if you work remotely), and do meal prep. This way, you’ll feel more accomplished to start the day and finish tasks without negativity and pressure.

5. Stock all your pro cheer needs

Like chaos, not having the things when you need them is another source of stress. This is true especially when it comes to makeup application and cooking your favorite healthy meals. Check your pantry if all cooking ingredients are complete as well as your makeup kit. If some items need replacements or resupplying, make time to stock up.

You might wonder how shopping or doing groceries is a form of self-care. According to a study, buying things actually helps us feel happier immediately. But only buy what you need because you might rack up debt that can bring more stress to you in the long run.

6. Have more me time by reading books

Reading is very good for your mental health. Think of it as a relaxing workout for your brain. If you have no idea what to read yet as a member of the pro cheer community, there are a lot of resources that will help you advance your career. You have the blog posts from PRO CHEER LIFE, a book for the auditions, and books about dancing.

7. Stay off your gadgets for an hour

Technology is a gift that has allowed us to do more. But too much of it can cause problems. Online arguments, bullying, trolling, disinformation, and procrastination are a few examples. It wouldn’t hurt you to have just an hour to not look into a screen. In fact, it can do you a lot of good.

One good benefit of having a tech-free time is that your self-worth increases. It helps you break free from the peer pressure curated by the images you see on social media. And this could really prevent adding stress to your life as an aspiring or current pro cheerleader.

The career of pro cheerleading is about making the fans of the team and those in the local community happy. But that shouldn’t stop you from pursuing your own happiness. Discover more self-care ideas online, pick the ones you need most, plan how to have them, and make time to let them happen.
