How To Lead A Healthier Pro Cheer Life Without Breaking The Bank
As a pro cheerleader, you know how important it is to maintain good health to sustain your physical activities on and off the field.
You may have entered pro cheerleading because of your passion for cheering and dancing. Still, your salary might not cover all the expenses you need, such as your dance training, and cheerleading materials, among others.
On top of that, you also need to juggle your payments outside your cheerleading activities. Even maintaining good health can sometimes be expensive. But you don't have to worry because there are ways to eat and live healthily without spending a lot. Here are some tips for maintaining a healthy pro cheer lifestyle without straining your wallet.
1. Buy your food in bulk.
Buying edibles in bulk can give the lowest price and discounts. Foods like rice, pasta, quinoa, and nuts do not spoil easily, and they keep the same taste after a few months, so don't be afraid that you won’t be able to consume them quickly. Look for the best deals and use your coupons when buying in the supermarket. You can also visit a farmer's market to find the best prices for food if you have time.
2. Exercise at home.
Gym memberships can be so expensive, but the gym isn't the only place where you can exercise. Ditch the gym membership and save money by building a simple gym at your home.
There are many fitness videos online that cater to all levels of fitness activities. You can also try doing cardio, stretching, and other exercises outside to have a better experience. Breathing fresh air while observing the outside can be fantastic not just for your physical health but also for your mental health.
3. Buy multifunctional equipment or make your own.
Leaving the gym doesn't mean you won’t do workouts using any equipment. You can buy multifunctional equipment, such as fitness balls or cardio exercise machines to save money. You can also DIY your own exercise equipment, like a pull-up bar or exercise bench using pipes, wood, or marine fabric. You can crunch those glutes by just using stairs, or you can use those everyday items that can be found in your house.
4. Cook meals at home
Cooking meals at home is much cheaper than buying them outside. You can purchase affordable meals, but they're not as healthy as you want. When cooking at home, you can control which ingredients to include in your meals and save some for the next meal. Examples of healthy budget meals are salad wraps, penne with veggies and black beans, veggie stir fry, or a simple healthy stew.
4. Plant your own garden.
Growing your own vegetables will save a lot of money and give a fresher taste. If you don't have a backyard or a garden, you can easily plant them on your balcony using large pots to accommodate your veggies. Recently, more people have been using "hydroponic" and "aeroponic" planting as they can save space and water when growing vegetables.
Conclusion
It is good to plan and budget your money accordingly to accommodate your expenses on and off the field without compromising your health. You can invite your pro cheer sisters to do these tips together and inspire each other to achieve your health goals more affordably.
