How to Reach Your Pro Cheer Goals? Improve 1% Each Day Instead of Making Drastic Changes

Too often than not, people think about the biggest changes they need to make in order to reach their goals. And then they think of today and realize that there’s only so much that can be accomplished. Now they’re overwhelmed.

When trying to do all that you should in order to get accepted by your dream pro cheer team, does the idea of change stop you in your tracks? Here’s a powerful tip that will help you become the best version of yourself: IMPROVE ONLY 1% EACH DAY. That’s all you need to remember!

With Small Steps, Any Journey Becomes More Manageable

At the end of the day, we realize that we can’t do everything at once. Once you understand this truth, you start to appreciate the power of sure progress. Since you are targeting a huge goal which is to ace the auditions and become a professional cheerleader, master living in the moment.

Make things manageable. The little things you do will compound over time and the next thing you know, you’ve created huge excellence. Here’s a scenario to ponder on: Spend 15 minutes each morning for a workout. In one week, you’ve invested almost 2 hours for fitness and burned about 500 calories!

3 Ways to Improve 1% Each Day (for Aspiring Pro Cheerleaders)

Tip #1: Learn one professional cheerleading audition tip.

Acquire one piece of advice on how to succeed in the auditions. There are many ways to do this and you only need to pick one. Here are some ideas: 

  • Read a pro cheer blog post (here at Pro Cheer Life or other online resources)
  • Read one chapter of a pro cheer book - check out my book on Amazon
  • Watch a pro cheer dance routine or game day performance on YouTube

Tip #2: Calendar your way to success.

Previously, I wrote a blog post about planning your week on a calendar. Doing this will help you win your day because you have a solid plan in place! For example, you can decide to spend Mondays for aerobic workouts, Tuesdays for researching your dream dance team, and Wednesdays for strength workouts. Tip # 3: Always break something down into small steps.

Identify a goal. Now imagine how exactly you’re going to make that goal come true. Everything should be bite-sized. For example, if you want to improve your dance technique, what would the steps be to get something done each day for that goal? Your list of steps may look like this:

  • Research a dance studio near you (Head over to Google, ask your friends for suggestions, etc.)
  • Pay a visit to the studio tomorrow and sign-up for Hip-Hop dance lessons.
  • Show up on the schedule dates no matter what.
  • Rehearse the dance moves you learned for 15 minutes when you get home. 

Remember: Slow and steady wins the race. Focus on getting better 1% and you’ll one day thank yourself!!! This strategy does not only ensure big and lasting results, but it also helps you develop patience and perseverance.
