Your Focus Should Be Progress, Not Perfection
When it comes to reaching our goals, we often aim for perfect results. This is the very reason why we give up before we’ve even reached the middle of the journey. Perfection is your biggest enemy. It drives you to set unrealistic expectations and lose patience.
No matter where you are at this point in your path to becoming a professional cheerleader, focus on making progress each day. By doing this, you bring your attention to the positive aspects of yourself - not failure and criticisms.
Truth: You are always making progress.
What you don’t realize is that you are progressing every single moment. So when you take a positive step, you don’t immediately see the impact. As a result, you undermine your effort. Just keep doing what you do. Workout, eat healthily and do anything that’s necessary to succeed in the auditions. As long as you are taking action, you’re on the right track.

Mistakes make you learn in life.
Failing over and over again is much better than faking perfection. There is value in committing mistakes because it is during these times that you actually learn. And by learning, you know what needs to be improved for the future. The most important part of making mistakes is that you leave them in the past. Do not carry them to your current reality.
Enjoy the journey.
Are you experiencing joy in the process of improving yourself? Or do you see it as a struggle? Most people assume that in order to be happy, they need to succeed first. While this is true, what we don’t realize is that happiness is also a determining factor for success. There are very simple ways to create happiness in your daily life. Appreciate the opportunities that each moment brings. Make the most out of your workouts, no matter how little time you spend on them. Optimism is a deliberate choice.
Invest in self-care.
Self-care is essential to your health and well-being. Remember that your experiences, energy, and skill differ from those of another person. This is why you should not set unrealistic goals on yourself based on the accomplishment of someone. For example, if you’ve never tried bodyweight exercises all your life, don’t expect yourself to do 15 burpees right away. Ways to care for yourself include scheduling breaks, challenging negative thoughts, and being more mindful.
Find new ways to do things.
Perfectionism leads to failure because it lets you believe that there is only one way to do something. This closed mindset prevents you from exploring better alternatives that get you better results. Success requires creativity and flexibility. Find new opportunities! For example, if you don’t have the money to get a personal trainer, for now, there are equally great options such as free workout videos.
Focusing on progress helps you gain wisdom, enjoy the journey, care for yourself, and be open-minded. These are essential ingredients to increase your chances of making your dream team!
