2022 NFL Detroit Lions Cheerleaders Auditions Info

Auditions are fast approaching! I'm sure you're excited to become part of an NFL pro cheerleading/dance team. Is it the Detroit Lions Cheerleaders? Because they've already released this year's audition details. Here's what you need to know about the auditions and getting yourself prepared!

Audition Rounds and Other Details

Here are their 2022 audition dates:

The preliminary round will start at 8:00 am on May 1, 2022 (Sunday). It will be followed by the semifinal round on the same day.
Business interviews and the final audition round will be on May 2, 2022 (Monday).

Other Details

All audition rounds will be held in person at the Ford Field stadium in Detroit, Michigan.
If you have a car, there will be a $6 fee for parking in the Ford Field deck.
Candidates who will proceed to the semifinal round will be announced at the end of preliminaries. This means semifinalists will be called back to attend the second round in the afternoon. The call time is to be decided.

Qualifications and What the Judges Look For

Qualifications and requirements:

The Detroit Lions cheer squad management didn’t specify a lot of requirements on their official page. However, you can expect that standard qualifications will be imposed for NFL dance team auditionees.

You must be at least 18 years old and fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Have a high school diploma, G.E.D., or any equivalent.
Look fit and healthy.
Submit a printed and filled application document. Refer to this link.

Judging Criteria

Your ability to perform a variety of jazz, hip-hop, and pom technical dance moves.
Confident posture, jolly expressions, and controlled movements when performing.
Showmanship and gracefulness when dancing may be observed during the audition rounds.

Audition Attire

The audition attire required for the auditions hasn’t been specified by the Detroit Lions Cheerleaders management. However, we recommend reading this blog post or visiting the Lions Cheerleaders’ Instagram for audition attire inspirations. You can also, have your own custom audition outfit made by The Line-Up.

A pre-audition clinic is available for aspiring Detroit Lions cheerleaders on April 26, 2022, (Tuesday) with a price of $25. There will also be $15 cheerleader master dance classes from April 5 to 21, 2022. Register through this link. The Detroit Lions cheerleaders is an entertainment and representative organization that just returned to performing for their NFL team after almost a 6-decade hiatus. It was founded in 1963, took a break in 1974, and came back in 2016. Every year, more than 300 women audition for the team but only less than 20 will make it to the final roster.
