2022 NFL Houston Texans Cheerleaders Auditions Info

Auditions are fast approaching! I'm sure you're excited to become part of an NFL pro cheerleading/dance team. Is it the Houston Texans Cheerleaders? Because they've already released this year's audition details. Here's what you need to know about the auditions and getting yourself prepared!

Audition Rounds and Other Details

Here are their 2022 audition dates:

There will be no preliminary and semi-final audition rounds for the Houston Texans Cheerleading squad. Instead, it will be done through three selection rounds.
The first round will be a video submission on April 29 and 30, 2022 (Friday and Saturday).
Like the first round, the second stage of the audition will be done via video submission on May 1 and 2, 2022 (Sunday and Monday).
In preparation for the final tryout round, the third stage of the auditions will be held in person on May 7, 2022 (Saturday).
For the final auditions, it will be a 5-day event from May 16 to 20, 2022 (Monday to Friday).
The 2022 Houston Texans pro cheer team members will be announced in the same month of May.

Other Details

Deadline for audition applications is April 28, 2022, at 11:59 pm Central Time. Don’t be late by registering through this link.
Deadline for the first round video is on April 30, 2022, at 8:00 pm Central Time.
Deadline for the second round video is on May 2, 2022, at 11:59 pm Central Time.

Qualifications and What the Judges Look For

Qualifications and requirements:

Be at least 18 years old.
Full vaccination against COVID-19 may be required among those who will make it to the 2022 HTC.
Have a high school diploma, G.E.D., or any equivalent by June 2022.
Appear fit and healthy.

Judging Criteria

The Houston Texans Cheerleaders management didn’t specify any judging criteria for the auditions. However, expect to be scored based on how accurately you’ll perform the given choreography as well as the techniques and forms used in the dances.
Professional appearance and level of showmanship may also be observed during the tryouts.

Audition Attire

You can wear any dance-friendly shoes for your footwear. However, the HTC management recommends that you choose tennis shoes, a midriff top, and dance shorts on the auditions. For your makeup and hair, use performance styles. If you don’t have any idea what they look like, refer to HTC’s official Instagram photos.

Prep Classes

There will be a workshop for the candidates of the Houston Texans Cheerleaders. They will be held on March 19, 24, and April 2, 2022. Prep classes #1 and #3 will start at 9:00 am and will end at 10:30 am. Prep class #2 will run from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Register through this link.

The Houston Texans Cheerleaders is one of the youngest NFL dance organizations. They started in 2006 and cheer for their team’s home games in the NRG stadium. Currently, there are 30 Texans cheerleaders in which all are women. But this year, they will be accepting male applicants.
