About the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders

The Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders, also abbreviated as MVCs, is one of the oldest professional dance squads of the NFL. They were established in 1956 and were known as the “Parkettes” back then — the dance group of the St. Louis Park High School. Despite being a squad of high school girls, the Parkettes were the official cheerleaders of the Minneapolis Lakers basketball team before it moved to Los Angeles in 1960.

In the following year of 1961, the Parkettes became the cheerleaders for the Minnesota Vikings. They called themselves the “Vi-Queens” before deciding to stick to their MVC group name in 1984. The Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders perform for their NFL team’s home games in the U.S. Bank Stadium.
