5 Things Mindful Aspiring Pro Cheerleaders Do Differently

Let me ask you a question: Are you often worrying about the audition outcome even during your preparation? If so, I want to share with you this topic on mindfulness. Mindfulness is the practice of deliberately focusing your thoughts on the present moment.

Being mindful has a huge impact on your emotions and ability to succeed. To be specific, mindfulness helps you to be more aware of your pro cheer audition practice. Because you're fully engaged, you can see things for what they really are. Focusing on the present also reduces your stress and anxiety, helping you give your best.

Here are five little things that mindful candidates do differently.

1. They make peace with imperfection.

People, in general, are insecure about something. Sometimes, because of these insecurities, we beat ourselves up. As an aspiring pro cheerleader, you need to stop being your biggest critic. Focus on the positive aspects about yourself! If your insecurity has something to do with becoming a pro cheerleader, work on them with patience and self-love.

2. They seek out new experiences.

If you want to achieve something you never achieved, you have to do something you've never done. I love this saying because it's true. You may think something is tough, but you'll never know unless you try. Open your eyes to new possibilities. Take your workout to the next level. Eat ten times better! Do yoga to improve your body flexibility!

3. They express their feelings.

Mindfulness is not about being cheerful all the time. Aspiring pro cheerleaders need people who can understand their journey. They need support especially during moments when they feel like giving up. A mindful candidate speaks her mind. She finds relevant groups or communities to join that allow her to share her experiences and gain from others like her.

4. They focus on one task.

One of the most essential acts of mindfulness is staying focused on one thing. Today's digital environment makes it hard to commit to a single task. But by channeling your energy into one task, you can maximize it. The next time you workout, workout. When you're reading an audition prep book, don't constantly check your phone.

5. They pay attention to what they put in their bodies.

Your body is not indestructible. It needs to be in the best possible shape for the auditions. With that, you need to be more mindful of what you eat. Choose foods that nourish you. While you eat them, pay attention to its flavor, texture, and smell.

There are so many ways to be mindful. Hopefully, you'll be able to start with this list and notice the difference in your daily audition prep routine!
