Pro Cheer Confidence: 8 Things to Say to Yourself in the Mirror
This is the time of the year where women feel pressured and stressed. As an aspiring pro cheerleader, you can't help but compare yourself to other candidates. You start to doubt your abilities and wonder if you're truly meant for professional cheerleading. It's difficult to reach your dreams when you allow negative thoughts to pass through your mind. But did you know that the things you say to yourself have the power to motivate you, inspire you, and help you push through fear?
If there's one thing that every aspiring pro cheerleader should practice each day, that's self-love. To practice self-love, stand in front of the mirror, look at yourself, and say these eight positive affirmations:
1. Today is going to be an amazing day.
You woke up this morning realizing that you are working towards something great. You have the power to make decisions that will impact audition results. You've got all the resources you need to succeed!
2. Set mini, realistic goals.
This is a piece of advice that you must always tell yourself. If you can't be realistic with your goals, you'll always feel disappointed. Tackling things one at a time is what actually helps you make progress. Because the truth is, nobody does everything at once!
3. I don't have to listen to all the things my mind tells me.
While many automatic thoughts are positive, many are negative as well. All our thoughts result from our past experiences and beliefs. Recognize when a thought is negative and question its accuracy. Remember that you can choose to not listen.

4. The opinions of others will not sway me.
If people have negative comments about you, remember that it's not about you -- it's about them. If you care too much about what others say, you'll miss a lot of opportunities. Remember that you don't need anyone's approval to succeed. What makes their approval more important than your own?
5. I completely trust you!
You know more than you think you do, and you have a lot of potential in you. Learning to trust yourself removes indecisiveness and confusion. To start developing that trust, you need to take risks.
6. Yesterday doesn't define me.
All that remains of yesterday are memories. Whether you skipped your workout, made food choices you regretted, it doesn't matter. Today is a new day and a chance to change your life.
7. Mistakes are valuable life lessons.
A mistake should only do one thing: Enhance you! Have a fresh perspective about your hurdles in your journey towards becoming a pro cheerleader. Tell yourself that mistakes are essential, simply because no one has gotten better without making mistakes!
8. I embrace hard work.
Hard work is your single best competitive advantage over others. Working hard towards your goals instead of procrastinating leads to greatness. There is no other way.
