5 Ways to Take Your Workout Outside
If you're feeling a little bored of doing your workouts at the gym or from the comfort of your own home, it might be time to start taking your fitness outdoors.
Outdoor training can be better than indoor workouts in many ways for your professional cheerleading audition prep: They allow you to burn fat in a fun and engaging way, reduce your stress levels (because of nature scenes), and get more energy from the fresh outdoor air and natural light. Best of all, outdoor workouts are free of charge!
Here are some creative ideas that will help you maximize your outdoor experience:
1. Hit the beach!
Summer beach days are here, so don't miss the opportunity of taking your HIIT workouts to the shore. You can definitely do each of these moves for one minute and rest for fifteen seconds after each move:
- Jumping jacks
- Butt kicks
- Jump squats
- High knees
- Russian twists
2. Go on a hike with your friends or family.
Hiking is a powerful cardiovascular workout that doesn't feel like a workout at all! A short hike or overnight hiking trip will help you build lower body strength, tone your whole body, and improve your balance. Going with people makes the experience worthwhile especially if it's your first time.
3. Sign up for an outdoor volunteer work.
If you're looking to get some community experience to include in your pro cheer audition resume, an outdoor volunteer work can also be a great chance to workout. From cleaning up a local park to home repair and building to helping with physical fitness activities in school, there are plenty of activities to partake in during the spring or summer.
4. Ride your bike to work.
Biking to work allows you to squeeze fitness and burn some extra calories in the day. Not only that, but you'll also be able to save money on your commute. First, find out if a bike commute is a good option depending on where you live and work. Be sure to check out the paths in your location.
5. Switch to running outdoors.
The added challenge of a varied terrain makes running outdoors a challenging workout that burns more calories. If you're used to running on a treadmill, you'll want to adjust your pace when running outdoors for the first time. Doing this will help your body adjust to the new terrain. Choose popular routes. Safety first!
Final Thoughts
There's no need for you to give up your indoor workouts entirely. A change of environment from time to time can take the boredom out of working out in a room and boost your motivation. Outdoor workouts are always great. So how's your pro cheer audition prep fitness routine so far? I hope you liked today's post and that these ideas help you!
