7 Life Opportunities Pro Cheerleading Can Give You

All aspiring and current pro cheerleaders are required to work at least one full-time job or be full-time students. This often gives an impression that the career of pro cheerleading doesn’t give too many advantages to those who pursue it.

But one still wonders, “Why do a lot of women still want to audition for a spot in a squad every year?” The answer is obvious. It’s not just about the job itself. It’s more about the various experiences the career can offer you which you can use once you’re an alumnus.

Still don’t know what we’re talking about? Let’s get straight to the details then.

1. Teaching career for dancing

During your time as a pro cheerleader, a lot of professional choreographers will teach you a variety of dance genres to perform in the arena. You can then use the experience to teach others once you’ll want to go your separate way from the squad.

Some returning pro cheerleaders even coach younger generations of aspirants the intermediate techniques of cheering and dancing while they’re employed by a team.

2. Teaching career for fitness

Women in the pro cheer community are required to be fit or appear so during the auditions and as members of their respective teams. It’s expected that you must do a lot of research on how to lose weight and maintain a sexy figure.

You can then use your fitness experience and knowledge to train or coach others who want to be fit and fab. Take what we do here at PRO CHEER LIFE as an example.

3. Promotional endorsements

Part of a pro cheerleader’s duty is to become a community ambassador. This is common in squads that allow their dancers to be hired for public appearances. A lot of pro cheerleaders are then absorbed by the companies they previously worked for to endorse the latest products.

There are also others who actively seek advertising jobs from previous contacts that have gained throughout their cheering career. And it’s an in-demand job because women have a heavier influence on the purchase decisions of consumers.

4. Modelling

Pro cheerleading is a glamorous job. There’s no doubt about that. That’s why most talent scouts eye pro cheer squads and find the best candidate to be a model for cosmetics and clothing. Take Stacy Keibler for example. She was a Baltimore Ravens cheerleader and became a model before being a famous WWE wrestler.

5. Media, entertainment, and sports-related careers

If we were to make a list of alumni NFL and NBA pro cheerleaders that became TV personalities, this blog post would be too long to read. But let’s take two exemplary women: Teri Hatcher of the San Francisco 49ers and Bonnie-Jill Laflin of the Dallas Cowboys.

The former played Lois Lane and won a Golden Globe Award while the latter became a sportscaster and scout for the L.A. Lakers. Our point is, pro cheerleading is a good way to earn media exposure - a prerequisite all people should have if they want to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

6. A career as a nutritionist

Nutrition and fitness go hand in hand. If teaching the ways of getting slim is a lucrative career during or after pro cheerleading, so is giving paid advice on which foods and diet plans are the best to be fit. Usually, pro cheerleaders who have their main career in the healthcare industry end up pursuing the nutritionist path due to extensive experience and testing.

7. Life coaching

A pro cheerleader must be confident and full of positivity. That’s why they make good life coaches. Some even do life coaching while being nutritionists, fitness instructors, educators, and NFL dancers all at the same time. Two notable women who do this are Corinne Holmes of the Bengals Cheerleaders and Taylor Stone of the Arizona Cardinals.

Passing the auditions is already challenging enough. It becomes even harder to fulfill your roles once you become a bonafide squad member. We highly recommend that as early as possible, you must mold your mindset, train your body, hone your skill in dancing, and live a life of glamour for pro cheerleading.
