7 Natural Ways to Make Your Hair Grow Faster

Long, beautiful hair matters for both aspiring and current pro cheerleaders. In auditions, your hair shows judges how well you care for yourself - something that they use to evaluate your readiness and maturity to represent your dream team.

With the exception of pro cheerleaders with afro hairstyles, those with long hair add appeal, drama, and style to the learned choreography, making the dance look beautiful and athletic. Because of this, we’ve decided to share natural tips on how to quickly grow your hair before your next audition or live arena performance.

1. Eat protein and biotin-rich foods

Hair is made of a protein called keratin. Our bodies synthesize the protein we eat to grow our hair. Biotin is a B vitamin that boosts the health of our hair and nails. Your diet is the primary factor in your hair growth. If you want to grow strong hair fast, you must avoid highly restrictive diets and eat foods that are packed with protein and biotin such as eggs, nuts, seeds, bananas.

2. Get a scalp massage regularly

Massaging stimulates the blood flow on your scalp by dilating the blood vessels underneath it. As a result, more nutrients are taken into your scalp which boosts the growth of your crowning glory. During your session, instruct the masseur to use castor oil as well. The compounds and nutrients from these products help your scalp soak up nutrients that boost hair growth.

3. Review your medications

You might have maintenance medications that cause hair loss or affect your hair’s growth. Common examples are medicine that lowers cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Antidepressants are included. While you consider avoiding these chemicals, you might also want to lay off cigarettes (if you smoke). The burnt toxins can damage your hair follicle.

4. Bathe in cold water

Cold water stimulates the closing of pores and follicles in your scalp. You need this to lock the moisture and nutrients you receive in from your shampoo and conditioner after bathing. If you cannot handle cold water, lukewarm will do. What’s important is you don’t shower in hot water as it will leave your follicles loose, making your hair prone to falling off.

5. Limit hair styling

Heat and chemicals are the archenemies of healthy and beautiful hair. Heat styling and dyeing strip the natural oils found in your strands leaving them dry, frizzy, and prone to breakage. As much as possible, avoid using heat styling tools to straighten, wave, or curl your hair. Learn to love your natural hair color. Find makeup styles that go well with your natural look.

6. Take vitamins

It’s good to eat protein and biotin to supply nutrients for hair growth. But it’s better to give your scalp everything it needs. One way to do so would be to take multivitamins plus minerals during your morning routine. Vitamins A, C, D, E, iron, and zinc are also essential nutrients to fight against free radicals, create more follicles, and keep your scalp moisturized.

7. Avoid stress

Stress makes your hair follicles go into a resting phase through telogen effluvium. This makes your hair stop growing or slows down its growth. In some cases, it makes your strands easily fall out as you comb it. There is also alopecia areata where your immune system attacks your hair follicles due to stress resulting in hair loss.

Your hair may be a growing part of your body but it is not a living thing. That’s why you must take care of your strands carefully by not subjecting them to chemical processes and extreme heating. Because once your hair gets damaged, there is no way to repair it into its former glory.
