Whether you’re just getting started on fitness or have been following a program, exercising can still be a chore sometimes. We begin our journey feeling more motivated than ever and later on face boredom.

Don’t worry, I got you covered.
1. Set goals you can actually meet.

2. Workout outdoors.
Faster results are possible when you take your exercise outside. The reason is that outdoor environments aren’t consistent, creating unpredictable inclines and declines that challenge your body. Try trail running or even walking the dogs to the park!
3. Take a walk after lunch.
Brisk walking after a meal doesn’t only help with digestion, it’s a way to sneak exercise into your day! 15 minutes of walking is all you need to enjoy the benefits of a post-meal workout. Carrying a pedometer with you helps you track your steps. Plan a route and switch it up every few days or a week.
4. Treat yourself to new workout clothes.
There’s a good reason why you should actually buy that pretty pair of leggings and top. It gives you feelings of happiness and influences your behavior in a way that boosts your performance. Experts call this psychological phenomenon “enclothed cognition.” If you want to feel at your best when working out, get the gear you love!

5. Create the ultimate playlist.
It’s no secret that music is an effective way to have fun with working out. But would you believe that the kind of tunes you listen to helps you maximize your movements and last longer? The ultimate playlist depends on what gets you pumped up. Faster-paced music influences you to workout harder. Consider bringing an extra pair of earphones to the gym.
6. Listen to podcasts while working out.
Health and fitness podcasts are great alternatives to typical workout music. There are many podcasts nowadays that talk about lifestyle changes, weight-loss techniques, and low-carb meal ideas. Listening to a podcast episode while running lets you stay in the zone, thanks to positive reinforcement.
7. Workout with a crowd.
Have you considered a group setting? Group workouts are powerful in that they enhance your competitive spirit. Better yet, find a running group in your area or join a local road race. Also, when it’s a month away from dance auditions, you’ll want to check out the dates for prep classes.
