7 Ways to Sneak in More Exercise During the Holidays

You can still enjoy the holidays and stay fit at the same time. Holidays shouldn’t be an opportunity to mess up your fitness goals for the auditions. Pro Cheer Life offers you these seven helpful strategies.

Making Time for Fitness During the Holidays

1. Find an exercise buddy.

Yes! Exercise doesn’t have to be hard when everybody else is forgetting their diet IF you have someone to stay fit with. Commit with a close friend to workout together regularly. Or if you can’t see each other, make sure to update one another through text or social media.

2. Schedule a 5-minute HIIT workout.

Set a daily alarm on your phone for just 5 minutes of HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training). This intense burst of exercise will effectively boost your metabolism. A 5-minute session can involve 10 situps, 10 burpees, 10 push-ups, and 30 jump squats.

3. Stick to a dog walking routine.

Taking Fido outside for a walk can be a form of workout if you want it to be. Make those few minutes really count. Walk a little faster. Carry small hand weights with you to increase your effort. Take a more challenging terrain.

4. Do an activity that you enjoy.

Think of fun activities you can engage in this holiday. There are a ton of activities that double as workouts. Examples include biking, dancing, hiking, ice skating, wall climbing, and swimming. Let your friends or family members join you to make the experience worthwhile.

5. Take the stairs.

The holiday season gives a good reason to use your legs more. If you don’t usually take the stairs at work or school, now’s the time to do so. Remember: taking the stairs burns more calories! An alternative would be to park farther away.

6. Seriously clean the house.

Doing some household chores during the weekend? Turn your cleaning session into a workout session. Play some great music. Increase your force and speed as you mop the floor, take out the trash, and wash the windows. Squeeze in 50 jumping jacks or 1-minute of high knees.

7. Take a skipping rope with you if you travel.

Sneak in fitness while you’re on a holiday vacation. The best thing about the jumping rope exercise is that it can be done anywhere. It won’t take up a lot of space in your luggage.

Final Thoughts

Get fit and healthy this holiday season by staying on track with your weight loss plans. Holidays shouldn’t be a struggle. Get rid of excuses. Think about the consequences of skipping fitness. Embrace variety. If you need more fitness advice, check out these blog posts:
