Feeling Stuck in Your Pro Cheer Audition Prep? Here Are Tips to Move Forward

Whether you're trying to get fitter or striving to improve your dancing, there comes a time when you just feel stuck. The feeling of excitement has worn off and now, you honestly don't know what else you need to do to make progress.

If this is your current reality, I'm here to tell you that what you're experiencing is normal. It's a common problem in those who are trying to reach their goals. The good news is, you don't have to feel stuck until the big day. Today is the day you start to feel empowered again. Here are tiny ways to get moving:

Try to understand why you are stuck.

You cannot move forward unless you know why you've gotten to where you are in the first place. In other words, define the problem. Perhaps you're doing the same exercise routine for months. Maybe it's your limited thinking that's keeping you from trying something new.

Be grateful for your resources.

Here's an interesting research on gratitude: A group of participants were asked to write about the things that irritated them on a daily basis. Meanwhile, the other group only wrote about the things they were grateful for throughout the week. After 10 weeks, the group that focused on the positives felt better about their lives.

You might think that gratitude has nothing to do with your pro cheer audition prep journey. But the truth is, it plays a big role in your success. Being thankful all the time helps you realize that you have everything you need to reach your goals. It empowers you to maximize your resources so you can bring out the best in any experience.

Change what isn't working.

By now, you should have some idea of what isn't working in your preparation. You can tell by the results you're getting after giving something enough time. A good example is diet. Let's say you want to go vegan after learning its benefits. But after two months of doing the diet and getting all the support you need, still, you don't feel your best.

Let go of fears and failures.

Holding on to your struggles, doubts, and fearful thoughts does one thing: It keeps you from living in the moment. While you cannot undo something, for example, your missed workouts or previous failure (if you didn't make the team last year), you can create space for a new thing. There are lots of amazing opportunities waiting for you in the world of professional cheerleading if you let go of the old, negative things.
