How to Get "the Look" for the Professional Cheer Auditions

No professional cheer candidate wants to go to the auditions unprepared. And when it comes to preparation, one of the things that candidates are concerned about is how they’ll look. Yes, you can be the best dancer. You can speak fluently and confidently. But you also need to keep up with the beauty requirements of a professional cheerleader.
Today’s blog post is about six tips on how to look the part. Check them out below.
Looking the Part for the Pro Cheer Auditions
1. Fill your body with the right foods.
Before we dive into makeup, first and foremost you need to adopt a healthy diet. Your diet affects not only your waistline but also your skin. Eat more fresh produce and foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids. Foods that are rich in protein also give you more energy to complete your workouts!
2. Incorporate regular physical activity.
Working out is a natural and lasting way to be beautiful inside and out! It improves your blood circulation, giving you that healthy pinkish glow. Exercise makes you look younger by boosting skin elasticity. Want an excellent at-home pro cheer workout routine? Join Pro Cheer Life's fitness classes.
3. Research the appearance attributes of your team.
What dance team are you planning to audition for? If you already have one in mind, be sure to research their look. A professional cheerleading team may prefer a specific hairstyle, use certain hair colors, and wear particular lip color. Know these things by browsing through team photos. You’ll find them on their website.
4. Adopt a higher standard of grooming.
Starting today, embrace the fact that as a future professional cheerleader, your level of grooming will be much higher than most jobs. Be well-polished. Don’t sport a chipped a 2-week old chipped nail polish! Practice keeping your makeup smudge-free. Achieve whiter teeth.

5. Experiment with the best look (that blends in with the team).
To look your best is to stand out while blending in. I know that you’re confused by this statement. Looking your best means that you should groom yourself in a way that meets team requirements. But at the same time, your hair, makeup, and attire should accentuate your best features! Months before the auditions, practice your look. Experiment with different lip colors, hairstyles, etc.
6. Maintain a good posture.
Do you know that standing meekly or shyly sabotages your appearance? Straighten up your back. Tuck your tummy and stand tall! Having a good posture allows you to walk and stand gracefully. Most importantly, it helps boost your confidence.
Remember… Judges Look for the Complete Package.
A lot of audition candidates assume that their dance skills can outweigh the fact that they haven’t prepared their look well. The judges want a complete package. Everything about you as a professional cheerleader has to be balanced. Spend ample time for each aspect of yourself. I would suggest that you use a calendar.
