How to Start Your Pro Cheer Week With More Energy and Motivation

As an adult, we often associate Monday with the feeling of dread. But the truth is, we experience this negativity because of poor time management, unhealthy weekend behaviors, lack of preparation, or just the usual habit of not making an effort to make Mondays better.

Speaking from experience, I’ve found the causes of why I always feel lethargic during the start of my week. And with that, I’ve also devised actionable tips on how to be more motivated and energetic. In this article, I share with you the strategies you can use to finish your audition prep and squad member tasks with enthusiasm by starting off on the right foot.

1. Start fully charged

Don’t party during the weekend if your weekdays are hectic due to work, squad, audition prep, and other activities. If you have to, do it lightly. Get enough rest by not compromising your nighttime sleep, especially if you’ve done any outdoor recreations and on Sunday evenings. Remember, the weekends are there for us to recover, not for adding more stress.

2. Start prepared

Have everything you need for the next weekdays ready during the weekends. Wash your activewear. Prepare your pro cheer meals. Put all the stuff you need for work or school in your bag. This way, you’ll be able to start your Mondays with no rush and have more energy to complete your routines such as dance practices and makeup application.

3. Start active

Exercise on a Monday morning. It won’t wear you out before doing your other pro cheer tasks. Instead, it jumpstarts your body, pumps you up, and fills you with motivation. However, avoid overtraining for it will defeat the purpose of starting your pro cheer week with more energy.

4. Start pretty

Wear cosmetics and dress well when heading out, going to work, squad rehearsals, or even during your audition prep. Flaunt your newly bought makeup and clothing. How you present yourself greatly affects your mood. By wearing something that makes you look good, you’ll feel better and more confident.

5. Plan fun activities for the midweek

The greatest source of our weekday dread is that we look forward to the weekends early and how we’re going to spend them. This is the #1 reason you’ll lose focus and motivation on Mondays for doing your audition prep and pro cheer fitness activities.

To add motivation and a sense of excitement to your Mondays, you must have some plans for Wednesdays. Some examples would be having a romantic dinner out with your partner, a movie night with your family, or hanging out with friends.

6. Create a playlist

Aside from the way you look, music also plays a vital role in influencing and boosting your mood at the start of the week. As early as Friday, set your #MondayMotivation playlist by selecting the songs that pump you up or make you cheerful.

These tracks are effective in fighting the Monday dreadfulness. Listen to them as you complete your morning routines and are on the way to work.

7. Set goals and rewards

Lastly, you’ll never muster the energy and motivation to do anything without goals in mind and rewards for completing them. Define your pro cheer goals first. For example, finish your workout routine before 12 noon, aim to polish your squad or audition choreography in two hours after lunch, and spend the rest of the day at the beach.

The greatest technique to start your pro cheer week energized and motivated is to always finish all your audition prep tasks or responsibilities as a squad member on Friday. The same goes for your work and studies. Then, use your Saturdays and Sundays to de-stress yourself. So, when Monday comes, you’ll feel no pressure but the drive to take on another week of adventure in life.
