Are you ready for the upcoming auditions? Are you 100% or 80% confident that you are going to make your dream team?

I’ve spoken with some women who skipped pro cheer audition because according to them, they’re not fully prepared. It’s either they think they’re not lean enough or not good enough in dancing. It’s also possible that they haven’t researched enough!

Here at Pro Cheer Life, I’m all for helping you show up as your best self on the big day. But I’m also here to tell you that you should never skip an audition no matter how you feel inside. Why? Keep reading,

Reasons Never To Skip Pro Cheer Auditions

1. Action facilitates learning.

Isn’t it that when you read a book, you haven’t truly learned unless you apply what you read in real life? You may have trained your body for months or taken “speaking with confidence” courses but believe me, the actual pro cheer audition experience is what will make a huge impact on your learning. You go through the rounds and if you ever fail, you carry home with you great knowledge that you can use for next year! The goal here is to learn as much as you can through experience.

2. Feel proud of yourself.

Pro cheer auditions happen only once a year and being able to take part in them is one big reason to feel proud. Not every woman who dreams to become a pro cheerleader has the courage to participate and feel the actual emotions of dancing with other candidates, learning the routines, and speaking in front of thousands. It can be scary but something to be proud of. You’re brave!

3. Come back better!

Joining a pro cheer audition even if you think you’re unprepared increases your chances of succeeding for the next auditions. By experiencing the real event, you get to identify what needs to be improved in your practice. After an audition, contemplate and make a list of the areas you can do better in. Is it your dancing? Ability to catch up with the dance steps? Posture? Audition attire? I guarantee that a majority (if not all) of your confusions about auditions will be cleared up if you take the initiative to join.

4. Assess if this is what you truly want.

Some women are just curious while some wholeheartedly desire to fulfill their childhood dream of dancing for a pro team. One surefire way to know if you’re meant for the pro cheer life is to go through the audition process - win or lose! You have to take the risk to know the answer. Those who are serious about a dream will continue to pursue it even after failing again and again.

5. You might just make the team.

Yes! Open your mind to the possibility that you will make the team. Truth is, the rest of the candidates are as nervous as you. But by doing your best on the big day, there’s a chance that you’ll reach the final round and be chosen! You have a solid reason to be confident if you did all the work required - from improving your fitness level to wearing the proper dance attire to researching the league and dance squad.

Don’t wait until you’re ready. Grab the opportunity to join a pro cheer audition and learn! I hope the 5 reasons I shared inspires you. Take initiative and never be afraid to fail. There is no substitute for experience! :)
