5 Positive Thinking Strategies to Crush Your Pro Cheer Audition Goals

“You are what you think” has a lot of variations from Ralph Waldo Emerson to the Buddhist saying. It rings true for everyone and pro cheerleaders know it. As an aspiring pro cheerleader, you want to be able to reach that level of optimism from self-reliance.

Pro cheerleaders are big on positivity because of the rejections and countless attempts they went through to reach their dreams.

Throughout the process, they learned the only way they can take their dreams to the arena is with the right mindset. So how does a pro cheerleader think? Read on for some inspiration.

1. Don’t bully yourself.

Try to belittle yourself in front of aspiring and pro cheerleaders and they won’t have it. These girls are big on motivation. If you had a friend who keeps bullying you or you see someone being bullied, hopefully, you’d tell them to stop.

Be kind to yourself. When you hear negative words coming from your mouth or thoughts, tell yourself to stop. Don’t stress about your stubborn flaws and continue towards self-improvement.

So the next time you gave in to a craving, could not run a mile or see tiny cellulite on your bum, you know you cannot be your own worst enemy.

2. Look for the positive in everything.

Count your blessings. Look for the good in everything, starting from within you. Practice gratefulness. When all you notice are your flab, focus instead on being thankful for how your body works. You’re alive, breathing, and well. You’re always on the road to betterment.

If you find it hard to see your beauty, listen to people’s compliments about you and accept them. Compliment your inner beauty, personality, and character as well. After all, pro cheerleaders are not chosen solely on looks and talent. Your character has a lot to do with your success too.

3. Be responsible for your emotions.

Critics will only have the power to make us feel bad when we give it to them. Bullies can annoy you for all they want. Others can offer their uncalled for judgments but at the end of the day, you have the power to react or to act.

When you act upon criticisms, you consider their validity and try to improve. Or else, brush it off as other people’s insecurities they try to reflect on you.

When you react, you can shut off yourself from the world and believe everyone tells you. You have the power to choose your emotions. Which will you choose?

4. Failure is ok.

The upcoming auditions may not be your first or second. You may have lost count, or who does? You clearly remember every rejection from every team you auditioned for. But don’t let those failures be the end of you.

See failure as something you can learn from and overcome. As the great inventor of the light bulb said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Channel your inner Thomas Edison and say, “I’m not a failure. I just found 3 teams/auditions that are not for me.”

5. Look ahead.

If you have been auditioning for the same team for several years and have still not found your big break, focus on limitless possibilities. There’s a team out there, even local ones, that have YOU in mind. Continue to improve yourself and attract good things with a positive mentality.

Over to you

No one can tell you what to put in your mind. If you do not control it, your thoughts can ruin you. Tap into your positive thinking to dance with confidence, to stand up to your bully-self, and be grateful for the beautiful and strong you.

With a positive mindset, there is no stopping an aspiring pro cheerleader from becoming who she is meant to be.
