8 Delicious and Healthy Infused Water Ideas for Pro Cheer Fitness

Drinking only water all the time can be boring in the long run. No matter how mindful you want to be, you’ll always miss the sweet refreshing taste from a can of soda or a bottle of fruit juice. And the more you resist, the easier you’ll give in.

Don’t be hard on yourself. You can make plain water fun to drink by infusing it with fruits and herbs. These fruits and herbs won’t just make your water tasty, but they’ll also provide health benefits in living the pro cheer life. Here are some infused water recipes you should try.

1. Apple of My Eye

Put sliced lemons, apples, and carrots into a glass mason jar. Fill it up with cold water, let it sit at room temperature for 1-2 hours, then refrigerate it for 3-4 hours before drinking. Do the same for the first five infusions on this list.

2. Summer Squeeze

Strawberries are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and can increase good cholesterol in your body which lowers blood pressure. Lemon keeps your blood sugar healthy and can help you fight sugar cravings. Add mint leaves then you have a fruity drink to cool you on hot days.

3. Sun-Kissed Apricot and Berries

Sweet, nutritious, and low-glycemic, this Raspberry and Apricot-infused drink is your alternative tropical beverage if you don’t like the mint from the Summer Squeeze. Apricots can boost skin, eye, and gut health too!

4. Citrus Burst

Stay hydrated, healthy, and beautiful by infusing slices of oranges and lime into your glass mason jar. These citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C which boosts your immune system and body’s collagen production to fight skin aging. If you want, you can add slices of lemon as well.

5. Minty Monsoon

Are you a fan of minty drinks? This won’t be like the summer squeeze which is a mixture of fruity and minty flavors. Minty Monsoon combines slices of lemon, cucumber, and mint leaves for a mildly sour yet cooling taste.

6. Strawberry Thyme

Strawberry Thyme is a great mood booster. The strawberry reduces your stress and the thyme’s aromatic properties give you calming and relaxing effects. Chop 6 strawberries and put the slices into the jar with 4 sprigs of fresh thyme. Add cold water. You can let the mixture infuse for 2 hours or put it in the fridge overnight for a full-flavored drink.

7. Grapefruit Jalapeño

Grapefruit and hot peppers are two fruits known to speed up metabolism. This infused drink is popular among chili lovers as a post-workout beverage. If you want to lose weight fast, this is your drink. You don’t have to worry about it being too spicy.

Jalapeños’ have a heat range between 2,500 and 8,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU) - meaning it’s not too spicy even for those with a low tolerance for spicy foods. The water also diffuses the capsaicin - spice compound. Just remember not to pick the red jalapeños at the grocery store.

Lastly, overnight infusion makes the water have the full flavor of the fruits in it. If you don’t want your drink to be very spicy, limit the infusion time to two hours. Infuse a quarter of sliced grapefruit, chopped half of a deseeded jalapeño, and 1 quart of cold water in a jar.

8. Fresh Raspberry Rumble

When you have sore muscles from working out, drink the Fresh Raspberry Rumble. Raspberries and Rosemary can help your muscles recover faster. This also works as a post-workout drink.

To prepare the Fresh Raspberry Rumble, put half a cup of raspberries, 2-3 sprigs rosemary, and a quart of cold water into the jar. Infuse for 2 hours or let it sit overnight in the fridge for a full-flavored drink.
