Five Mindset Shifts That You Need for Pro Cheer Audition Success

They say that success starts in the mind. This saying has proved to be true regardless of the goal that one is trying to achieve. And when it comes to professional cheerleading, you as a future auditionee, need to train your mind first if you want to stand out and be one of the chosen few.

Ready to succeed? To turn your dream into a reality, pay attention to these important 5 mindset shifts. Pro Cheer Life will be sharing them with you today:

[Mindset Shift #1] Turn your plans and ideas into action.

Here’s a powerful secret you should know: Any plan (I repeat, any plan) you have in mind can be yours if you pin it down by acting. Everything is shaky unless you act now because action fortifies your thoughts. If you’re thinking about improving your fitness by going on a jog each morning, commit to that. Set an alarm. Do what you can to get it done. Over time, it will be harder not to do it.

[Mindset Shift #2] See the good in the journey.

Do you train your mind to see the good in every experience or do you surrender to a default state of negativity? The reason why we complain in the process of trying to reach our pro cheer goals is that we want instant results. But these successes don’t happen overnight! Starting now, try to appreciate each challenge. Ask yourself, “What valuable lesson or benefit can I gain from this?” Focus on that.

Speaking of focusing on the benefits of your exercise efforts, here’s a recent blog post that you might want to check out.

[Mindset Shift #3] Stop worrying about the things you cannot control.

Research shows that about 12,000-60,000 thoughts fill our minds each day. And usually, these thoughts are the same thoughts we had the day before. How many of the thoughts that cross your mind are centered around regrets or worries? You cannot bring back the past and tomorrow is yet to come. But you have control over NOW - your mindset, attitude, and next best action.

[Mindset Shift #4] Be fully aware of your strengths.

As someone who’s taking the path of professional cheerleading, it’s important not to realize the things you’re good at. Are you good at dancing? Or have the strong willingness to learn how to dance? By strengths, we mean not just the physical aspect but also the emotional one. Taking a moment to fully realize what you are already capable of and willing to be more capable of increases your motivation. Now pause... and name 3 strengths that you are proud of.

[Mindset Shift #5]Learn to love feedback.

Most people prefer to be praised rather than given constructive feedback. Feedback is essential as it helps you grow by getting a fresh perspective about what you do. Instead of seeing feedback as a roadblock, see it as a tool to help you improve. If you can join a fitness group online or offline, do it and take as much advice as you can. Embrace a growth mindset!
