How to Get Pro Cheer Prep Done In 20 Minutes a Day

Being too busy is not an excuse to skip a pro cheer preparation activity. If you have the will to accomplish your pro cheer goals, then you must find a way to do so. One tip to accomplish your preparation tasks despite a hectic schedule is to follow the 20-minute daily prep time routine. Here’s how to successfully do it.

1. Follow a daily calendar

A daily calendar is a schedule of all your activities that will happen during the day and it includes your pro cheer prep task. Pick which hour of the day and what minute you’re going to do your 20-minute pro cheer activity.

2. Read at least 5 pages of a Pro Cheer Prep Book and have top 3 takeaways

Make reading a pro cheer prep book one type of activity in your daily calendar. Five to seven pages can be read within 20 minutes. Schedule reading on Mondays. Your mind will be fresh on the first day of the week to absorb ideas.

List down all the important key points you have learned from the 5 pages and pick the top 3 that you need to keep in mind for the days to come.

3. Stretch for the first 5 minutes and dance for the remaining 15 minutes

Stretching for 5 minutes is enough to warm your body up, get the blood circulating, and prevent cramps while dancing without making you too exhausted for practice. The remaining 15 minutes allows you to practice 2-3 full routines.

4. Schedule your day the night before

It isn’t necessary to do all your pro cheer prep activities every day. The 20-minute window for pro cheer prep is only for the very busy aspiring and current cheerleaders who have other matters to attend to like motherhood, school, and work during the weekdays.

If you have a lot of activities to do tomorrow, schedule all your main responsibilities first tonight and find a free 20-minute window for the pro cheer prep task. Then pick the most urgent pro cheer prep task to accomplish for the next day’s 20-minute window.

5. Invite a fellow aspiring pro cheerleader

Think of your pro cheer preparation activities like workouts. It’s more fun, easier to do with a partner, and you have a better commitment to completing the tasks because you and the other aspiring pro cheerleader hold each other accountable.

Get to know every candidate at the audition and ask where they live. If you’re close to each other, ask for their number and partner up. Tell them of the 20-minute schedule you have established so that both of you can do your preparation tasks together.

6. Remove all forms of distractions

Before doing your audition prep tasks, make sure you’re in a quiet place and away from distractions like other people, your laptop, computer, T.V, or your phone. If you cannot be separated from your phone, put it on a “Do Not Disturb” mode to block all notifications and calls when you’re nearing the 20-minute prep schedule.

7. Identify one activity to focus on

You can either do multiple prep activities or focus on one throughout the week. If you really need improvement in one area such as self-confidence or makeup application, use the 20-minute window of your Monday to Friday schedule for makeup practice or confidence-boosting exercises.

Don’t stress yourself if you haven’t done enough in one session. Just come back tomorrow, but learn from your mistakes today.

Your 20-minute pro cheer prep window can be scheduled at any time of the day. It can be during the early morning where you can practice dancing as your workout, late morning for makeup application, high noon for confidence-building, or evening for meal-prepping. What’s important is you give your all during your prep activities without distractions.
