Overcome These Limiting Beliefs and Make Your Way to Audition Success
Belief is the foundation for action. Once your belief is compromised, your actions will be gravely affected as well. An aspiring pro cheerleader with a fearful attitude will have a bad audition preparation experience. Or worse, she won’t act at all out of fear.
Are you experiencing the same thing? If yes, then we must crush this state of fearfulness. But first, we must identify and discuss every limiting belief that’s holding you back. Then, replace it with positivity so you can rock the audition.
1. I can’t do my audition prep
All you need to do is get off your feet and stop making excuses. Your mind is very powerful. Don’t let pessimism enter it. Start telling yourself that “I can.” instead of “I can’t.” because once you cement those two positive words in your head, you’ll start to act.
2. I can’t be a pro cheerleader because I’m not qualified to be one
Nobody can see the future, including yourself. You may know yourself well enough to say that you can’t be a pro cheerleader, but what you don’t know is, your uniqueness might be the one thing that the judges are looking for.
Or if you think you’ll fail the audition because you’re not like the other candidates, then know their recipe for success and incorporate their techniques in your preparation.
3. I don’t have time for audition prep
You always have time. You just need to sacrifice the time on doing the things that you don’t need for preparation. For example, binge-watching shows late at night ruin your sleep and energy. Instead, rise early for workouts and spend time for healthy food preparation.
4. I’m not good enough to be a pro cheerleader
Ask yourself, “Have I really given my best?” You’ll never know how good you are if you don’t try, start practicing, and push your limits. If you’re bad at dancing, then practice until you’re good enough. It’s as simple as that.
5. I’ll be judged at the auditions
Yes, you will be. The judges at the audition and other people will point out what you lack. But it’s a matter of how you respond to the criticism. Use that to your advantage. Whatever they say that you don’t have, work on it.
6. I’m not ready for the auditions
Nobody is. But you’ll never be if you don’t start preparing. Even aspiring pro cheerleaders who prepared thoroughly for the auditions still have stage fright on the final day. But they just take a deep breath and think of having fun so they can stay confident in slaying the event.
7. I might fail at the auditions
If you don’t prepare for it then you will indeed fail. Preparation increases your chances of success. It also helps in building your pro cheer confidence. So practice your public speaking skills and applying makeup. Workout, eat healthily, and sleep early now.
8. Everything has to be perfect for “the day”
If you can’t reach perfection on one thing then don’t. You’ll only hold yourself back by stress and anxiety when things don’t go your way. Learn to work with what you have and on other things as well.
If you can’t polish your dancing to the way you want it to, then settle on being good at it. Work on making your hair healthy and beautiful or making your skin clear and glowing.
Every success in life starts in your head. You must train your mind to be positive and optimistic at all times. Avoid making excuses at all costs. When you start to believe that you can pass the auditions, your willpower will fire up and prompt you to act. You’ll notice yourself sooner to be making audition preparation plans and acting on them. Then, there’ll be nothing that can stop you from being a pro cheerleader!
