Pro Cheer Prep: 8 Best Ways to Get the Energy You Need to Accomplish Important Things

Energy and motivation are hard to come by nowadays due to the easily accessible luxuries of life. You can just wake up one day and decide to sit on the couch all day watching TV while eating chips because it feels more rewarding.

While that may be the ideal life for some, you cannot afford to do that if you want to get things done and achieve your pro cheer dreams. You’ll need to find a source of impulse first for action. So where to get it? Read on.

1. Getting proper sleep

Sleep is essential for energy metabolism. That’s why you should get enough of it. And by enough, I mean not too much and too little. 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night is the best. You should also aim to get more deep sleep. To do that, make your bedroom conducive to sleeping.

2. Exercise

Workouts train your body to constantly release high energy output. Living a lazy lifestyle will make your body easily tired from doing even the simplest of tasks. That’s why you should exercise every day. Also, morning workouts such as yoga, running, or strength training jumpstart your metabolism to give your body fuel for performing daytime work.

3. Remind yourself why you want to be a pro cheerleader

I know this is often repeated in some of the articles here at PRO CHEER LIFE. But because of the multitude of audition prep and other tasks aspiring pro cheerleaders need to do every day, they often forget their #1 reason and motivation for pursuing the career.

You need to remind yourself every time of that reason. Especially when you wake up in the morning and before you do your pro cheer prep activities.

4. Watch, read, or listen to motivational media

Motivational videos, podcasts, speeches, or blogs are powerful assets to hype you up into accomplishing your goals. Even if they do not necessarily talk about pro cheerleading, there are plenty of sources that would hit close to you. Find one and play it every time you feel lethargic.

5. Write your goals down and make them easily seen

Seeing something regularly eventually makes it to the top of your head. For example, if you see the phrase “eat healthily” every day, you’ll eventually be conscious of what you put in your mouth. The same goes for your goals.

If you see and read them regularly, you’ll be thinking about them and doing them automatically. I would suggest writing your goals such as talking to at least 10 people a day for confidence building in a digital notepad first. Turn the note into a photo and use that photo as your phone’s wallpaper

Every time you open your phone, you’ll be encouraged to communicate to be a confident auditionee.

6. Nap

If you feel tired during the day, take a nap. There’s no harm in it. You’re just giving your body time to recharge and your mind to reboot. However, keep your naps short and don’t. An hour and less is enough.

7. Listen to music

Aside from the media mentioned in #4, music can also hype you up a lot. You can search Spotify for hyping playlists. You can also pick your own playlist by downloading your favorite songs into your iPhone or Android. Remember, hyping music needs to be lively, not mellow.

This is my favorite motivational music.

8. Commit to at least 5 minutes of doing your tasks

The hardest part of finishing your responsibilities is starting because you’ll always think it will be tedious to get them done. I’m not going to say that you should force yourself to work. But at least commit to doing tasks like meal prep or makeup application practice for 5 minutes.

Time yourself. You can abandon your task if you want to after the timer goes off. You’ll be surprised if you do so.

It’s also important to be in the company of highly motivated people to accomplish your pro cheer goals easier. If you live with a bunch of lazy individuals, you’re most likely to be one of them. However, there are three things you can do: Move out. Be the odd one that motivates them. Or focus on your thing. After all, true energy and motivation comes from within yourself!
