Pro Cheerleader Tips to Stay Fit and Healthy While Traveling
Are you a pro cheerleader that loves to travel in your free time? If yes, then you know how tempting it is to overindulge in the culture and food.
When traveling, it's easy to forget your healthy lifestyle because your body just wants to relax, and your mouth wants to taste all the fantastic local cuisines. But enjoying your travels and staying fit don't have to be total opposites. In fact, you can combine enjoyment and fitness while on the road. Here are tips to stay in shape during a vacation.
1. Stay hydrated by bringing a bottle of water.
Going to your destination can be tiring and stressful, so bring a bottle of water to stay fresh and hydrated. This will also help control your appetite. The amount of water that you need to consume depends on how hot or humid your destination is, but try to drink at least three liters when traveling.
Bring your own water bottle. When you don't bring one, you may be tempted to spend money on other things, like snacks, aside from water. It's also environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
2. Perform quick workouts
Of course, you want to focus on spending your day touring and sightseeing, but it shouldn't be an excuse to miss your workout sessions. It's best to exercise for 10-30 minutes right after you wake up since you might get busy later.
If you only have 10 minutes to spare, you may consider doing high-intensity workouts. These are quick routines that you can do anywhere. You can also utilize the stairs in your hotel room and run in a nearby park. If you want some simple equipment, you can carry a skipping rope. Jumping ropes are lightweight, portable, and a great tool to burn fat and calories.
3. Combine sightseeing with physical activity
There's also a more enjoyable way to exercise—combine it with sightseeing! Do some active sightseeing like biking and walking. This will allow you to appreciate the area and be motivated to be more physically active. Don't be afraid of the stairs. Take long walks and enjoy the view.
4. Stick to a balanced diet
A nutritious diet is essential, no matter where you are. Start your day with a healthy breakfast to keep you fueled for the entire day. When it comes to lunch and dinner, experience the local cuisine but watch what you eat. As much as possible, go for lean proteins and eat more vegetables. Treat yourself during your trip because you deserve it. Just remember to not regularly overindulge as it can lead to weight gain and poor sleep.
5. Get enough sleep
Sleep is a great way to charge your body, especially when tired from touring. If you don't get enough sleep, you'll feel significantly worse when you wake up. So don't drink too much alcohol, relax and get a good night's sleep.
Conclusion
Wear sunscreen to avoid burning your skin, and use your vacation to connect with your mind. Lessen your exposure to technology and focus on your surroundings. You can't do that when going back for cheer training. Lastly, enjoy your stay and always keep safe.
